The MILWAUKEE SELF-RETRACTING UTILITY KNIFE is comfortable to hold, easy to use and ti extend the blade out for use. The button to extend the blade is nice and large and has no-slip grooves making it easier than some other brands. Changing out the blades is also very easy (no need for a screwdriver) with the large button that just needs a turn with your fingers to open the knife body. Works great.

This Milwaukee retractable razor knife is very handy and easy to use. The self retracting feature is a great addition to a razor knife. I use mine a lot and keep one handy in my cellar, garage and at times my pockets. they come in handy for many things and jobs. I use mine to cut up recycle cardboard so it fits in the bin. they can be used to cut inti plastic and wood to make a neat cut. They have a thousand uses.

Milwaukee Self-Retracting Utility KnifeThe Milwaukee Self-Retracting Utility Knife is a great knife to have around in the garage for use of cutting up cardboard or like materials for the recycling bin, or for keeping in the kitchen to open packages. The awesome feature is the safety feature of the self retracting blade. In order to use the knife, you extend the lever forward which exposes the blade. When you release it, whether outright or controlled, the blade automatically retracts into the knife blade. This is an awesome safety feature, especially if young people are using or have access to the knife. The housing of the knife is metal, coated in a nice red base. The knife allows a tool free blade change by unscrewing the two halves and then flipping or changing the blade completely. The housing also stores five (5) spare blades. The housing has a lanyard hole for a chord attachment. The knife comes with a limited lifetime warranty. The knife is made in China.I’m very satisfied with Milwaukee Tools and their knives. They are very well made, and work flawlessly. I rate this knife 5*s out of 5.Thank you Milwaukee Tools for allowing me to try your product.Thank you Home Depot Seeds for offering this item.

This is my go to apron knife. I like it for a lot of reasons. Mostly because I can’t forget to close it before quickly shoving it back in my pocket. It does require a bit of getting used to, but for opening boxes and cutting cardboard, it works great. I also really like the 2 blade positions to limit the depth of cut. The knife is comfortable for me to use and I am left handed. It’s easy to store and change blades as well. It’s all metal and pretty tough. I’d definitely buy another one of these ASAP if I lost it

Very good construction. My only wish is that it had a rubber gripped handle..

This type of knife is specifically designed to be used in factories where there must be a minimal chance of lacerations and other incident reports. From a design perspective, the thumb screw was a big mistake for Milwaukee; it will unscrew and fall apart in your pocket! However, you can fix this by wrapping the screw in plumber’s thread tape. If this is still annoying, I’d recommend buying the self-retracting safety knife sold by Hyde or Stanley.

This utility knife is amazing. It has a nice weight to it and the blade itself is extremely sharp. So be careful and keep away from kids for sure. I had to break down a bunch of boxes and cut through some drywall. This knife came in handy. It has a lock on the side if you want to keep the blade out. The material is really nice so makes clean up easier.

Excellent quality blades. Definitely holds an edge the way a blade is supposed to.

This utility knife has become my “go to” blade for opening the hard to open plastic molded packing. Things like cards of batteries and other products that are sealed into molded plastic. I like that the knife is self retracting as for me I feel safer using it rather than a static blade utility knife. I also use it to cut cardboard into small sections for recycling.

This is a great utility knife with a lot of great features that definitely set it apart from other run of the mill knives. The retractable blade is a great safety feature, and it operates smoothly and easily with a push of your thumb (and it retracts automatically). The knife has storage for a few extra blades, and the knife opens up easily with a thumb screw (no screwdriver needed!) when it’s time to replace a blade. I would definitely buy this utility knife again!

The self-retracting feature might be good in some situations, I can see it as being an advantage for safety reasons, or perhaps when allowing a child to use it, but frankly I don’t like it. I expected a detent or similar feature that would hold the blade locked out but no, you must hold the blade out with your thumb on the blade slide control. Other than that complaint; it is well made, a plastic body, so nice and light. It has a lanyard or hanging hole. Despite my complain I will keep it handy and use it as a box cutter. The package stays it stores 5 blades, and it does, but it also comes with the five blades included, the package does not make that clear.

The construction of this utility knife is very good. The case, button, sliding tray, spring and even the thumb screw that holes the two halves together are all metal. The blade will only stay extended while you keep the button slid forward. Once you let go of the button the spring pulls the blade back in the handle for safety. This is a good idea and can help prevent cuts. The blades are easy to change. No tools needed. The screw can be removed with fingers. Right out of the package the screw was very tight but since then it’s been easy to access.

This is one of the better utility knifes that I have owned over the years. The Milwaukee has a metal body with a self retracting blade. It is easy to grip and changing the blade entails unscrewing the plastic screw and lifting the body off. The housing stores up to five utility inside, so you never have to look for additional blades when your blade goes dull. I have used this to open taped up boxes and it works great.

This retractable utility knife by Milwaukee is the best! It has a solid feel to it, the surface is matted to aid the grip, and it feels good in hand. The blade will only come out when you slide the button conveniently located at the top of the knife and will retract when you let go. It does take some getting used to, at times you’d use your thumb or your index finger to push the slider, but it’s doable. Still the best utility knife I’ve ever had. The retractable blade is a great safety feature because you sure don’t want the blade sticking out when you carry this knife around with you. It has lanyard opening at the other end, so I just carry it with me and easily use when needed. I am using this knife every day, from opening cardboard boxes to cutting them down so they fit in the trash, and more. Just used it to turn a cardboard box inside out to return an item I had purchased online. The Milwaukee utility knife is holding up just fine and will no doubt last a long time. It even stores 5 spare blades for the added convenience and flexibility of use. What can I say, it’s Milwaukee! Another awesome tool by this brand. I own a few Milwaukee tools, have a high confidence in this brand and this utility knife won’t disappoint. It’s a must have in a toolbox. Highly recommended.

I do a lot of recycling and this knife is absolutely perfect for cutting up cardboard. See the two pictures below one with a knife retracted and one with the blade extended. The spring loaded blade is very easy to push with your thumb and retracts quickly and safely once you release it.It is great for recycling and would probably work great on sheet rock as well.I like the fact that the blade retracts because then you don’t have to worry about inadvertent slicing of material or body parts 🙂

This is a great utility knife. It makes it very safe and easy to cut things up. The blade slide button is spring loaded and automatically retracts when you let go of the button. There is a easy to use knob on the dude that does not require tools to open to change out the blade. This is anther very high quality, well built Milwaukee product that will last for many years to come.

Sharp, sturdy, utility knife with self-retracting safety built in. We do not worry about breaking the blade of this knife by dropping it, or having it get into little hands, since the blade retracts as soon as you take your thumb off of it. We use utility knives to break down boxes for recycling, and this one does a good job. In addition, it has a second, shallower, depth setting for the blade placement, using the second notch of the blade, which allows us to open boxes without cutting deeply (see photos). The screw that holds the knife together is made so that it cannot fall out, which we appreciate. The first time we opened up the knife, we had to use pliers to turn the screw (placing a paper towel over the screw head to protect it from the metal of the pliers). But after that first time, the screw turned by hand. Extra blades can be stored inside the handle of the knife. This is a nicely designed, well made, safe, utility knife.
