Very nice and well constructed utility knife. This fixed blade knife from Milwaukee is built out of metal with a nice red powder coat paint. There is on board storage for your blade when it is not in use. Key thing to understand with this utility knife is that the fixed blade means the blade does not retract away. If you do not want the blade out then you will need to unscrew the handle and place the blade in the storage area. The knife takes the fastback blades and has a nice handle on it. Super nice utility knife and quality made.I would recommend this utility knife if you are looking for a fix blade knife.

I recently put together a tool bag for my wife’s new job and the one thing we were missing was a quality razor (utility) knife. This Milwaukee fixed blade utility knife is perfect because you can take it apart with just your finger tips. My old fixed blade knife you had to dig out a large flat head screwdriver every time you wanted to change out the razor blade on it. This utility knife has a metal body with a over-molded grip that is quite comfortable in the hand. They added a lanyard hole on the end of it so you don’t have to worry about losing it. They provided tool free access to the 5 razor blades that can be stored in the handle (only comes with 1 razor blade provided). With the bright red color it is much easier to find when setting it down. My old silver colored one always kind of blended in to its background where this one really stands out. My wife said she has already used it multiple times to cut up some very large boxes in their new showroom and it works perfectly. I can see this razor knife being perfect for scoring/cutting sheetrock or for any other thing you might need it for. If you are looking for a quality razor knife I would definitely give this one a try. Milwaukee is known for making great tools and this one is no exception.

Another very nice product from Milwaukee. Is very light weight and pretty small for my large hands so will just keep in the shop for light work as the one in my electrician pouch is also fixed blade but much larger to fit my hands and with gloves on works better. But this Milwaukee utility knife is very nice and works like it should and does the job think I would like better if was a little larger and heavier. But all in all is still a great product and not that costly

This is a lightweight easy fixed utility knife. I didn’t realize it was fixed but I will still use it. There is one very sharp blade inside and it’s very easy to get out with the thumb screw fastener. I’ve used it for cutting up large cardboard boxes and works great. But I always put it out of the way until I’m finished unlike other utility knifes that you can close immediatly. It is too sharp and dangerous to hold in your hand while doing something else. If you don’t mind the fixed blade then you will like it.

It is just under 2.5 ounces so is lightweight enough to not tire out your hand but still feels solid. It is 6” without blade, with blade closer to 6.5.”This utility knife comes with 1 blade already stored inside the handle. You can store more 5 blades inside the handle. On the opposite side of the storage (inside), there is a bent piece of metal that will hold the blade(s) firmly so they’re not rattling around inside the handle which is something I wouldn’t have thought of. In order to access the blade storage, you turn the black screw on the side of the knife with your fingers; no tools are necessary. When you fix the blade into its slot, it’s held firmly by the cut-outs in the blade matching the notches in the handle so there’s no wiggling around. The screw is on the left hand side if you’re holding the knife in your right hand. I think it’s made more for a righty than a lefty but when I hold it in my left hand, the screw sits at about the bottom of my index finger in the space between my finger and my thumb so I don’t think it’d be a problem for anyone who’s left-handed. At the bottom of the handle there’s a rectangular hole so you can hang it on your belt loop or on the wall. It’s metal coated so that it’s smooth and actually feels kind of like plastic but not cheaply so. Someone really put some thought into its design. It is made in China. The palm of my hand is 3.5” wide and the angle fits easily and comfortably in my hand and the rubber on the underside gives you a good grip. It comes with a “Limited Lifetime Warranty” but there is no information included about the warranty. I can’t imagine what you could do to this in the normal course of events that would break this in any way. My only complaint about this product is the same gripe we all have with plastic packaging: you feel like you need a pair of hedge clippers to get into the package.

I had tried a variety or fixed blades. This is one of the tops, i especially like it because its light and keeps the blade tight for drywall

Like other Milwaukee tools, this fixed-blade utility knife is an excellent design and has good features such as hand-free blade change, lanyard attachment hole, and a grip. Other things I like are the internal blade storage with a flange to hold them securely and the solid tangs for holding the mounted blade in place; both can be seen in Photo #1. Photo #2 is the knife side-by-side with another brand to show the slight tilt of the blade; this allows for the user’s wrist to be in a more natural/neutral position when in use and reduce fatigue.I would recommend this product.

This is a no frills, no nonsense knife and it comes with a blade inside the handle, where there is space to store up to five spare blades. There is even a small spring clip to hold the stored blades from rattling about in the handle. The knife body is metal, yet lightweight. One can open the knife to change blades without any tools, simply by unscrewing the fastener by hand. A nice feature. It is nicely shaped for holding and pressing down hard. There is also a hole at the end of the knife that allows it to be tethered.I don’t think one can ask for any more from a fixed blade utility knife!Limited lifetime warrantyMade in China

I have to give this Milwaukee fix blade utility knife 5 stare rating. It is light weight and very durable. I have been using it to take the carpet up in our house and it has held up wonderful. It comes with one blade but you can store extra in the utility knife which is very handy. It is easy to get into by turning the thumb screw a few times and replace the bade or flip it over or you can store the blade in the knife if you want to. This is a really good ulitilty knife it will last you along time.

The Milwaukee fixed blade utility knife is an outstanding utility knife with the sharpest blade on an utility knife I have ever used. This knife is not retractable so you need to be very careful when using this knife. This knife cut easily through perforated downspout vinyl extension pipe. Easy access to changing the blade and nice curved handle for easy use. I highly recommend this product.

I am not normally a fan of fixed blade utility knives but I have a need for one because my retractable blade keeps retracting while I’m using it on this project. It has a finger twist lock to open and close the case so you don’t have to find a screwdriver to change or switch sides of the blade. This is really handy because you can quickly remove the blade and stick it inside the knife between uses to protect the blade and yourself from grabbing the uncovered blade. There is a spring mechanism inside the knife to hold the spare blades in place so they don’t rattle around and get abused.

Milwaukee 48-22-1513 Fixed Blade Utility Knife – This utility knife has several good features; 1. Tool free blade changes, simply turn the finger lock, 2. Over mold grip, 3. Store up to (5) blades in the handle and Lanyard hole…The safety benefit to incorporating lanyard holes on all tools is absolutely a great idea and one that can save purchasing new tools…There is not much that can be said about a utility knife, they either work well or they are junk…This utility knife performed as indicated, intended and expected without any problems…

This fixed-blade knife is a no-frills utility knife. It’s light in weight and comfortable to use with either hand. I’ve found that cutting with it is very easy. I’ve used it to open boxes and to trim some plastic to size. The lone razor blade that comes with the knife is extremely sharp and durable. I presume the blade is a Milwaukee product; I’ll have to get some spares the next time I’m at The Home Depot. What is meant by “tool free blade changes” is that there is a thumb screw fastener that holds the two halves of the body together. Many utility knives have a slotted screw faster that requires a screwdriver or other flat blade to open and tighten the halves together. The fact that the blade cannot be retracted into a safe position is a major drawback, to my way of thinking. The blade is too sharp to leave in a position where it could cause a significant injury if the knife is mishandled.Made in China.

The Milwaukee Fixed Blade Utility Knife is a great boxcutter for the everyday consumer. The back of the housing has a large hole which makes hanging it on a lanyard or on a wall very simple. The handle easily opens to take out and store extra razor blades, which is your standard razor blade, nothing special as razor blades go. I would personally have liked to see a sheath or some sort of covering for the blade when I’m storing it, but It’s simple enough that I just put the blade back into it.

Much better than the other utility knives I have. The handle contour makes this knife easier to hold and control. The contour has a curve that comfortably fits the index finger and the knife has a curved shape that positions the blade at a more comfortable angle than my other utility knives. No tool is needed to open the handle to get to the spare blades stored in the handle. It is easy to rotate the lock without using a screwdriver or the head of a nail, making accessing the spare blades much easier than usual. The spare blades do not rattle around in the handle, helping to preserve their edges, because a leaf spring presses into the pocket that holds the blades. This knife is my clear favorite.

The MILWAUKEE Fixed Blade Utility Knife is the perfect hobby knife. It is light weight. The knife can store 5 blades inside its body for easy access when a blade change is required. A screwdriver free blade change is possible via the button screw in the side of the body that can be pinched and rotated between the thumb and index finger. The blade is fixed in the open position and cannot be withdrawn. The overmold grips on knife provide a comfortable and secure grip without hand slippage. One knife blade is included in the body of the knife when purchased. My comment about being a perfect hobby knife is because the fixed blade is always exposed. Without a scabbard to shield the blade it would be easy to be injured if walking around a job site with the blade exposed. Milwaukee has other great FASTBACK folding utility knives for this purpose. However, for a hobby knife where the user is sitting at a desk and doesn’t need to carry the knife around with an exposed blade, it is perfect.

I keep utility knives around everywhere for opening boxes/packages, stripping wire, cutting rope and more. In the past these have been hard to open and close when replacing the blade. Not this one. It is easy to open, easy to line up and close. The handle is metal with a good grip, and stores five blades. This Utility knife is simple to use, change blades and use for many jobs. Very handy

I am a drywall hanger by trade and I love this Milwaukee blade! It secures the blade really snug so it’s not wiggling around and I love that I can switch out blades so quickly!
