The Hawkbill Lineman;s Knife with special 3-in -1 Ring [to aid in performing various operations during use] is a step forward in design of this trusted ‘age old’ design tool. The extra long handle allows for use of the added features not found on any other ‘hook bill blades’ I’ve seen or used. The 3-in -1 features allow for several tasks that have traditionally been performed by other tools in combination with the use as a ‘cutting tool’ only. I found the ‘holes in the handle’ very handy to help organize individual wires of a cable to twist them together and add a wire nut. The hole in the handle’s end was used to help tighten the wire nuts over the twisted wires. I do not know if that is an intended function, but it sure worked for me. Besides all of the originally designed functions, this new design appears to have a lot of ‘added features’ making it a more valuable tool. I recommend you give this Milwaukee tool a try and find more uses for yourself. The plastic storage sheath provides a great deal of protection while safely holding the knife for storage and while carrying it. PapaBear1

This is a great knife, very sharp right out of the packaging. The included sheath stays in place well and it has a clip that allows it to be securely worn on a belt or pocket. The handle is a good length, it’s comfortable to hold and it has a good hand feel. The blade is a good size, slightly bigger than I expected. Overall this is well made and comfortable to use – great option!

We’re doing some rewiring around our home, specifically in our garage at the moment, and this hawkbill knife has been coming in handy for stripping the cables. The blunt tip is nice for ease of mind while you strip. The quality of the tool is apparent as soon as you hold it in your hand, as tends to be the case with all my Milwaukee tools. Excellent knife, great company.

This is really a professional tool for electrical contractors and electric utility workers rather than the home handyman, with its 3 in 1 ring for attachment to and angular adjustment on two types of high voltage hot sticks. While most do it yourselfers don’t have high voltage hot sticks they will still find the ring useful for hanging the tool up and many uses for the very sharp hawkbill knife blade. I own quite a few Milwaukee tools and Milwaukee has never disappointed me. They are good quality, not overpriced, and this tool is no exception. It comes with a hard plastic sheath with a belt clip, and it has a large man-size red plastic handle that provides a firm comfortable surface to grip without contact with the metal blade. Milwaukee claims that the blade stays sharper longer and while I can’t vouch for the veracity of that claim I’m sure it’s related to how well you take care of the tool and what you cut with it. I find it handy for opening boxes, cutting up cardboard, and cutting carpet, as well as other daily uses.

Milwaukee’s Hawkbill knife is a dandy tool for electricians working with medium voltage cable. Fancy box cutters, straight knives work but the curved blade makes a big difference. I like this Milwaukee because it does not break the bank and keeps its edge a long time. The metal is not so hard that it tears into the copper which is another plus to me. If I had any complaint it is that I can’t set it down without one of the other guys picking it up. The blade is not too big and it is balanced well. Can’t beat it for the money.

Strip different types of wire every day and the knife blade stays pretty sharp. All around a good durable blade and added bonus of it being able to attach to a hot stick if necessary!

I received my Lineman’s Hawkbill Knife with STICKWORK 3-in-1 Ring. This knife is super sharp. I’m going to order either a shotgun and universal style hot stick for it. The molded knife holster makes it easy for you to carry and store your knife safely. Its kind of hard to remove it from holster, but that maybe good so it doesn’t fall out. I will put it to good use. I think most anyone would like to have this item.

This is a large utility knife with an overall length of almost 10″. The blade is 3.5″ and the hard plastic handle is 5″ long and offers a beefy grip. The knife locks tightly into the sheath, which has a hook for a belt up to 1.75″ wide. When worn on the right side, the knife can be removed one handed by pushing with my thumb at the front of the sheath. The hawkbill blade has a blunt tip and is otherwise very sharp. The metal 3-in-1 ring is a full 1/8″ thick and looks like it will withstand lots of use (and abuse). It comes with a limited lifetime warranty and is made in Taiwan. Milwaukee also sells a version of this knife without the 3-in-1 ring.

I just received this Lineman’s Hawkbill Knife with Stickwork 3-in-one ring, by Milwaukee Tools, as an addition to my electrical tool bag. This knife comes with a poly plastic sheath that holds the knife safely on my belt. The handle is very comfortable and has a 3-in-one Stickwork ring in the butt of the handle. This ring is compatible with Shotgun hot sticks, universal hot sticks, and a method for hanging the knife, The blade is very sharp and made of hardened steel to maintain it’s sharpness. This cuts heavy wiring insulation quite well and looks like it will live up to the included Lifetime Warranty

This is the best all around utility knife. I use it in my shop to open containers and boxes. Excellent quality blade that seems to stay sharp forever. Makes opening those sealed plastic containers that are a real pain very easy. The holster is pretty good, but could be a little snugged to keep the knife in place. Can be a very slight inconvenience when up on a ladder or scaffold and it falls out. I highly recommend this product!

This is a very nice knife. The case that is come’s with is not sloppy so it fits very tight. It fits on a belt really nice. You need to be careful pulling it out at first as it is very snug in the case. We have used this to pull back insulation on some electric line while changing out a light fixture and it worked great. Our next project will be working with come cable wire with this tool it should go smoothly.
