Tool worked as described. Being rounded gives you a weird feeling if you are pushing down squarely. Bought tool especially for the extended blade which I use most for patch panels in racks. The LED lights comes in handy.

This tool works great when dealing with crowded panels. The unit comes with both the style 66 and the 110 blades which is nice if you still have the older style. And the simple addition of adding a couple of LEDs on the tool is genius. So many times these panels are located in pitch dark places and the days of holding a small flashlight in my mouth have come to an end. It unit also come with 2 aaa batteries. Good size, light weight and it feels really sturdy.

I needed a new punch down tool and decided to purchase this one because of the LED light and the extended reach blade. There have been many times I’ve wished the blade was longer than the standard one that came with my other tool so now that I see Milwaukee has come out with one I decided to go ahead and get it and I’m glad I did. Now that the tool is not so close to the work and it has a light to help illuminate the area. It works like my other one. You can set the impact for low or high. I’ve found that low works for everything I’m doing. If you’re in need of a new one I highly recommend this one.

This such a great tool. I am so happy to have this. I like the LED light and the so many functions this tool has to offer. My friend came and saw it was amazed at it does. He had never seen one like this and now he is going to buy one! It is great to have wonderful tools and this one is the greatest. Thank you so much for this. I really appreciate it.

Being a data technician, I use this almost every day. I love the look and feel of the crimpers, my only complaint is that it doesn’t have a blade in front of the crimper to cut passthrough mod plugs. If that was added to a second generation, I’d be much happier with it. Otherwise, a great tool for any voice/data tech.

Well-built, tough, and accurate punch tool from Milwaukee. What I like:• Good brand that stands behind its tools.• The built in light (2 LED) works well and most importantly hits the target.• The blades stay in place once you set them in.• Good grip on the handle. It’s a hard plastic but it has some grooves for grip.• The hi/low setting works nicely. The pressure is accurate. What I don’t like:• Some on board storage would be nice for a blade or two. • The price is a touch on the high side but this punch tool will likely live on for decades.Overall, an above average punch tool and one of the nicer punch tools I’ve used. It held up to the paces I put it through. This is a good product. I recommend.

Milwaukee’s punch down tool is a winner. The quality, fit and finish is excellent. Even little things like using actual clips on the battery connectors for the built in light, the positive clicks everything makes, the light switch being an actual on/off and an easy press-click, perfectly aligned component pieces, add to the pro level feel. The interchangeable blades are a great feature and lock in by lining up and sliding a metal pin along a channel in the base of the blade. Then they click into place. The handle is a tough plastic and fits in the hand perfectly. The impact parts are metal. The end of the handle and button are a durable rubber. There are even little feet near the top of the handle (near blade end, not where you grip!) to stop it from rolling off on you. Love is not too strong a word for this little guy! Some minor nits:I wish you could store the smaller blade in the handle. It could easily grow legs, but that would probably require it to be longer or fatter to accommodate impacting so maybe a tossup; The lo / hi selector switch on the impact was stiff. I hit it with a little penetrating oil and now it’s much easier to operate with my thumb; The smaller blade slid in place a little roughly at first. It’s machining wasn’t as smooth / precise as the bigger. I hit it with penetrating oil. Slides in easily now;Overall high marks. Definitely a recommended purchase if you need to punch down wires all day long, work in a data center, or are a DIYer who does it occasionally and wants a neat gadget or to make your results look professional.

A long awaited project of changing the older style 66 wiring block to a 110 block has finally come to pass and using this Milwaukee Punch Down tool has made the transition so much easier to achieve. The tool itself measures 1-1/2 X 6-1/2 inches and the two 110 supplied bits are 2-1/4 inch and the other 5 inch in length.Although the 110 block serves the same function as the 66, it does take less space and is compatible when using high speed networking, plus VoLP (voice over Internet protocol) hence the changeover. In acquiring some assistance from my friendly telephone engineer who pointed out to me that I should have bunched together all the same color coded copper wires first, before, as he said, I yanked all the rest of them out….yeah whatever. I knew he was going to help me do this.Taking his `Krone` tool out his bag (another name for a punch down he told me) he quickly pushed them in one set of wires and used his penlight to get a good view before using his tool to slot them in. Eager to try out my new Milwaukee tool, he was immediately impressed that it both had a light and that the two shanks were both short and long. I was confident now and soon I had half of the wires in along with a good clear cut. He was next to try out my new tool and he continued to complete the job. His overall verdict of this Milwaukee punch down tool is that is far better than the one he uses, or in his words, has ever used. As the lighting in my office did not illuminate the quick-connect block as well as would have liked, the 2LED’s at the top of this tool proved invaluable. We did not try the setting on high as the low setting was doing such a perfect job of punching and cutting to the insulation-displacement connectors. Although this tool also has 360° rotating back caps, once again we did not need to use this facility. The longer shank was very useful in the hard to get areas but we mostly used the short one punching a wire into place using its excellent impact action.Overall satisfaction of all aspects of this superior punch down tool. Recommended. It is tough and resilient along with excellent shanks and light. Batteries are supplied with this kit

It looks like that if you want a very precision and extremely quality tool, then the word is Milwaukee. This Punchdown tool also comes to that category. It is used for low voltage voice, Data and video professionals for wiring and installation of precise panel in equipments. The 2 LED lights on the punchdown tool help in terminating wires in tight spaces in panels especially in darkness. The tool comes with 2 each AAA batteries for the LED lights.

Very handy and nice tool to add to my tool box. So very easy to use, you strip back the wire jacket to expose the wires, fan them out. Place separate wires in wire jack, ensure each is placed in its own separate slot and extend out the back. Then you can terminate the conductor wire by pressing the punch down tool on the conductor wire to cut them. Makes this job quick and easy.

I do like it however as well as the punch is made they use very cheap blades only 2 punch down tools i have ever seen the blade crack below the cutting blade the milwaukee and the ICC punch down. Usally it’s because the blades are cheap metal. the rest of this is ok probably better then the paladin model with a light and the extention can be useful but i haven’t even used it yet. When i wanted to replace my Harris this is the next one i looked at I haven’t really liked any other one i tried other then the paladin punch down. The good news is that blade fits in this tool very easy so thats not a issue unlike the ICC, those blades need to be from ICC which makes their punch down suck worse then this one.

I’m very impressed with the quality and heavy-duty power of this crimper. The handles can be locked closed for storage. The ratcheting mechanism doesn’t release until the contacts are fully seated. The plugs fit firmly and latch into the position. There are 6 catches/stops in the ratcheting mechanism, but one full squeeze is sufficient to fully and evenly seat the contacts. This crimper should last a lifetime, and comes with a limited lifetime warranty. The ratchet mechanism can be accessed by removing 5 C-clips in case servicing is ever needed. My old crimpers required multiple squeezes, wiggling the connector and retrying, and lots of pressure, all qualities I’m happy to part with now that I have this super-crimper.

This is one of the best punch tools on the market. It arrives with a standard 110 as well as a long 110 blade. The long blade allows for terminations in full panels and racks (fitting between switches is no longer a problem). The light brightly lights dark IDF patch panels (Bonus – the batteries are included). I’ve used this punch for several months and have not needed to change batteries. The end of the tool has a non-slip rubber grip. This would be a perfect tool, except for the weak lock for the blades. I find that, after several terminations, I have to twist the blade back into place. If I could make a couple suggestions for a future version, I’d include a screwdriver adapter. I’d also market the standard punch blade (the long blade can be ordered separately, but I can’t find the short blade). Aside from the minor suggestions and the locking issue, this is a stout punch tool that I’ve recommended to several techs (who are all satisfied with their purchase).

SUMMARY: A NICE NEW IT TOOL FROM MILWAUKEEBACKGROUND: I do some ethernet cable work and am always looking to expand and/or improve my IT tool-set. The opportunity to evaluate the new Milwaukee punch down tool with extended blade was the chance to do both. I was not disappointed.FIT AND FINISH: This is a nicely made tool. Although the body is plastic it still has a decent feel. The bright red color makes it easy to spot. Both cutting blades are heavy and feel as solid as any Milwaukee hand tools. The tool has a high and low power selector with an easy operation and large lettering. A nice additional feature is the dual LED light built in. Not only does it illuminate dark areas in a tight or dimly lit punch down enclosure, it also doubles as a light duty flashlight! All the tools tips include a cutter to automatically snip the excess end off the wire.OPERATION: Operation of the punch down tool is no different than any other spring-loaded tool. Install the appropriate blade. Set the punch down force. Turn the light on if necessary. Position the tool over the wire, and press until the tool “pops.” I noticed that the cutters normally cut on the second push. It is a good indicator the wire is fully inserted.SUMMARY: A very hand tool with nice features. A welcome addition to my wiring tool set.PROS: Comfortable, three wiring anvils, LED lights.

Its hard to believe that I ever tried to make a cat5 connector without a correct punch down tool to do the job properly so I acquired a Milwaukee 48-22-2165 which appealed to me initially because of appearance. After looking it over with all its features I knew I had the right tool. Now to go to work with it I was able to set the punch down pressure and with the extended reach blade and LED light feature for the first time connections went fast and easy. The punch down not only made a positive connection but also trimmed off the excess wire with ease. ” Great Tool “
