When regular locking pliers start to slip, you have to stop and open them, tighten and re-lock. With these you can tighten the red part while still locked. Even better, if you know a lot of grip is needed you can tighten these down before you start to strip the piece you’re working on. These are a must have for any garage and I really like them. Great for small threaded piping jobs.

The teeth on these thing will grip anything and everything that fits. Nice sharp biting edges to eliminate slippage. The tension adjustor is a little small and can be difficult to adjust if wet but doesn’t take away from the overall function for me. Would prefer a knurled knob instead of the plastic. So far the quality has been impressive. Since I don’t use these everyday, they should last a lifetime.
