I purchased the locking pliers to try and remove the plunger rod from a yard hydrant. I placed a piece of Unistrut over the plunger shaft and then locked the pliers on the shaft. In this way I attempted to lift the plunger from the pipe. The Unistrut bent, but the pliers never slipped. Great product
