Makes short work of cleaning up cut ends of copper tubing (for water lines). Completely eliminates the sharp, thin flange-like material produced on the inside surface of the pipe when cut with a tubing cutter. Fast and easy to use. Wish I’d known about it 20 years ago. Saves lots of time. Not expensive. Highly recommended.

The reaming pen is great! Meet expectations. Small and sleek. Perfect for wood and metal projects as well.

Reaming pen trimmed the inside of cut-off copper pipe to install shut-off ball valves.

Creates a nice smooth surface on the inner diameter of pipe. The blade is replaceable as milwaukee indicates. I removed the blade by using a crescent wrench on the right angle at the end of the blade. With a little bit of force it comes striaght out. Replacement blades are 48-22-4257. They come in a pack of 3. Once blade is removed simply insert a new one.

Used to debur a 1/2” copper line where I was replacing shutoff valves to the sink. Worked well to get the inside nice and smooth.

The reaming pen was used to de-bur cut ends of PVC and copper pipe/tube, as indicated on the packaging. A saw-cut piece of PVC pipe was used as well as a piece of copper tube, cut with a roller type tubing cutter. The ragged edges and shards of PVC were quickly smoothed down..in fact, in PVC, the cutting action is rather aggressive, so some finesse is called for to prevent “beveling” the inside edge of the pipe. Reaming the copper tube also requires some care to avoid scoring the inside surface of the tube, which may require cleaning out the copper particles, if the application involves any components which could be adversely affected by metallic particles. Although not advertised for use on aluminum, it was successfully used to de-bur several holes drilled in an aluminum plate. All in all, a convenient tool to keep clipped in your pocket when working with any of the above materials.

this pen is advertised as use for pvc and copper pipe but i have been using it solely for reaming EMT metal conduit for weeks now and it hasnt even gotten a chip in the blade yet.

There are both good and bad aspects of this tool, but the good ones certainly outweigh the bad. This tool is compact. Most higher end reamers are bulky and don’t have the ability to just slip into your shirt pocket. This little guy is about the size of a pencil. It has a high quality bit and the movement is pretty decent. There is also a shirt clip attached to the handle to allow you to clip it to whatever you have to carry it around with. The bad… The bit is not interchangeable as far as I can tell. Start working on harder materials like steel, tungsten or ceramic and you will wear this guy out pretty quick. The only option is to buy a new one. But if you regularly use it to work with brass, copper, aluminum, plastics, etc. then you should be able to see some long life from this compact little workhorse.

just okay. its too thin so it makes it hard to use to get a smooth full circle cut of a typical 1/2 our to 1” of more copper pipe. The general brand has a larger diameter body so it works better. The lade is also not very sharp.
