The Milwaukee Long Cut Offset Left Aviation Snips are Extremely well built, very versatile and a superb value for such a quality tool. I really like their long cut blades, that are hardened and very sharp…stay sharp too! 20 gauge sheet metal is no challenge to cut and since this is my first long cut aviation snips, wish I had these in many past situations struggling with cheap, conventional snips. Their 5 year warranty backs up Milwaukee’s commitment to crafting solid, well designed hand tools!

I’ve always found that Milwaukee tools are really well designed and durable, and this “long blade snips” is no exception, plus it also looks “cool” with its comfortable multi-colored handles. I recently installed an electronic air cleaner on my HVAC system which required some substantial amount of rework to the existing ductwork. I tried out these snips on that project and they worked great. The forged blades are almost 3 inches long so traversing fairly long distance straight cuts was fast and easy. The blades appear to be hard-chrome plated – good for durability and rust prevention. The tool doesn’t have any protrusions to interfere with the cutting operation – nice. Cutting some 20ga (0.9mm, 0.035″) mild steel was remarkably easy. This tool can also cut up to 22ga (0.6mm, 0.024″) stainless steel. The metal lock, that can be operated with your thumb while holding the tool makes unlocking and locking a one-handed operation. This tool was engineered by Milwaukee and is manufactured in Taiwan.

Own the previous version of these and hated that they never stay locked close. Glad they changed the way they lock, good inprovement to this toll. I use them for cutting flashing and siding and they work really good.

Easily Cut Smooth Straight Lines!I used this to cut a 2″ wide by 19″ long strip of .019″ aluminum as shown in the video. The connecting bolts on these snips are flush and therefore do not snag your work as you cut. This allowed me to cut this long strip without it curling up. This occurs with other snips I own when the piece I am cutting has to clear connecting bolts that are not flush. The design of the grips are comfortable and help you maintain control of the snips while cutting. As can be seen in the video I was able to make a long smooth cut with these snips.

High quality tool works as it should cut thick metal easily

When you want that extra inch these can give it to you. These jaws are quite a bit longer than others I have used. The extra lengths makes for a great cut. I do a bunch of straight cuts and this makes them easier to achieve. The grips are comfortable and conform comfortably to the hand. There is a lock that keeps the blades closed for storage which is conveniently moved with the thumb. All in all this a quality metal shear.

Cuts easy, using the snips to refurbish metal from my damage storage.

All good. Exactly what I needed for long cuts in duct metal or aluminum sheet metal. Avoids the strain when hitting seams/joints when using long “tin snips” I had used for long cuts before. This pair just keeps on cutting with no issues.
