This is not the first pair of “tin snips” I’ve ever bought, as I own a few already, but it is by far the best. These Milwaukee snips are very well-made and well-designed aviation snips that were just what I needed to trim some metal panels for my shed roof repair.Cutting metal roof panels is tricky to do by hand, but not with these snips, which make it a snap. I especially like that these aviation snips have a 3″ long cutting blade, a 45 degree offset and even the knuckle joint does not get in the way of your cutting. I also like the design of the lock on the snips, located between the handles, which keep them safe if you have kids around the house. These are built to last too, and have a 5 year limited warranty.

This product is well built and long life cutting ability and with the lifetime warranty you can not go wrong and built by a company that has a great long time reputation for good products you can not beat it. I use these to cut mild gauge screen to keep birds out and with the long blade and long handles it helps not to tear up my hands as I have had in the past with other brands. These would be of great addtion to any welder or mild steel person that needs to cut mild gauged steel or even home projects.

These snips were just what I needed to complete a vinyl siding job. Because the snips are long and straight, they allowed me to make nice straight cuts on the vinyl siding. They also allowed for precise angled and curved cuts. They are durable and stayed sharp, so I am sure they will serve me for many jobs to come.

Hi this is for 11.5 in. Long Straight-Cut Aviation Snips Model #48-22-4537. It has good reviews on the Home Depot site, and indeed it is well built and feels good in hand when using it. However there is a MAJOR issue. If you test the cutting edge steel on the Rockwell HRC scale, it only scores between 50-55. It is ChromeMoly steel. A lot cheaper than the tool steels that other snips are made of. My Wiss snips tested 65+ on the Rockwell scale. This snip looks nice, but it does not have a durable edge. Since most people don’t test their steel, they will naturally assume that because of the Milwaukee name, it is a good product, but this is not true in this case. I might still have a use for it, but it will not be for cutting sheet metal as other tin snips are capable of.

These offset aviation snips are heavy duty. These are not the cheap flimsy snips, these are a quality tool that will last a lifetime. I used them on some heavy gauge sheet steel and they cut the material like butter. I like the size and the offset angle, easier to get into those hard to reach places and the blades are great quality steel and stay sharp. I highly recommend this product

I taught metal shop for years and have used just about every type of snip you could imagine. These are, by far, my favorite snips I have used. These are now my go-to snip in my tool box. The ergonomics of the handles are perfect and I can cut all day without getting a blister like my other snips. I’ve cut sheet copper, plastic decorative ceiling tile, and trim-roll aluminum with these and they worked great on all three different materials. The only thing they didn’t work well on so far was the galvanized ceiling grid track. I know I should have just used a saw, but I just wanted to see how they would do since they seem to work on anything. I think a shorter version of this snip would have had enough mechanical advantage to chop through the grid. Maybe that’s my next tool purchase.

better than I had hoped. I had worn out 1″ aviation snips, saw these longer ones, and thought I’d try them. Nice straight cut.
