The Milwaukee 20 in. Ream and Punch Straight Jaw Pliers incorporate exposed metal handles (patent pending) and a precision ground pliers head for reaming pipe and punching electrical knock outs. The plier’s teeth are hardened for secure grip over the life of the tool. Milwaukee pliers feature slim profile over-molded comfort grips, which will not peel under jobsite conditions. All Milwaukee pliers are forged for strength and feature rust protection for long life.
- Reaming handles and head up to 1-1/2 in.
- Exposed metal handles for punching
- Comfort grips will not peel or dig into hands during extended use
- Jaw capacity up to 5-1/2 in. pipe
- Rust resistant
- Forged strength design

There are a few things that I love to do with ordinary “blue-handled” pliers that tended to ruin them — ream out pipes, grab hot pipes when soldering — that become very easy with these pliers. This is a solid piece of equipment that almost takes the place of a monkey wrench. The jaws are quite sharp, and bite aggressively. the handle and the tip of the tool are thoughtfully beveled to allow the tool to be used to take burrs off of holes and freshly cut metal. Definitely a tool that likes the abuse I dish out.

Good luck getting the grips to slip off (one of my biggest pet peeves with channel locks)! The teeth have excellent, sharp edges that will not slip. For me, quick adjustments are a bit clunky. If I pop them open they get stuck in wide open mode and I have to fidget with it a little to find that sweet spot where I can slide them. Once that’s set it’s a bit tricky to find the desired slot. It seems to me that if they tapered the sliding alignment bar at the end it should be much easier to close. This is typical channel lock behavior, but with pliers this large it’s amplified. All my channel locks use a simple nut and bolt and for me that’s always worked well. In fact I’ve never really thought about it until I got these. Maybe I’m making more of this than need be, but I can squeeze the handle ends and overlap them with the lateral slop introduced by the “loose” rivet. Personally I’d rather be able to snug them up a little, but that’s not possible with this design. There’s not much slop at the top, which is what’s important, but by the end of the handles there’s about half an inch. It’s not that it was improperly assembled. I can see that, by design, this is as tight as they can be because of a collar on the rivet. Again, maybe I’m just nitpicking.

A little bit on the heavy side. But other than that it works great.

Use these almost on the Daily, Electrician with 4″ Compression connectors and couplings, Absolutely Perfect. Jaw opening to 5.5 inches. Recommended for all electricians.

These things are massive!!!! The torque these pliers have is very powerful. The gripping force of the jaw is second to none and the teeth don’t slip. I use to use nothing but Channel Locks but with Milwaukee’s new line of pliers I think I’m switching over. Won’t be unhappy with these pliers, but they are very BIG.

I occasionally work with 2″ – 3″ electrical metal conduit, and thought this tool would help me grip various components for ease of assembly. It works reasonably well on flat surfaces like metal boxes because of the extremely sharp teeth, and also the handle-ends work well for box punch-outs, but the flat throat design of the plier makes it more challenging trying to grip cylindrical surfaces like pipe. Also, while the jaw of the plier is rather tight, the handles are out of alignment with each other by perhaps a half inch, Because jaw is fastened together with a rivet rather than a nut, it is not possible to tighten the head to minimize this sloppiness. This is a heavy duty tool that looks like it will last a long-time, assuming the mis-alignment doesn’t cause premature wear.

This is a really big set of adjustable pliers for serious jobs. The handles are bit short for best leverage but they have a good grip. Quite heavy and sturdy. Works well for large plumbing fittings.
