I have been replacing many of my aging (and we’ll used) tools with Milwaukee brand as they are really great quality and (in many cases) well thought out… I like these smooth jawed pliers for those times you need to tighten something without “ruining” it with ridges of a standard set. (I am sure you have ALL SEEN some butchered up chrome plumbing fixtures in a public facility where some “Lumics” cranked the fitting with a standard set of pliers… THAT is what these are for….A quality till at a great price at Home Depot…

Really nice pair of pliers for all kinds of plumbing workThere’s nothing worse than mangling your plumbing fittings your tools. Rather than have the serrated/toothed jaws of most pliers these have smooth jaws. I was really impressed how well they gripped various fittings across a few jobs I did. They never left a mark and they did exactly what I needed them to do. The red color is nice for being able to easily spot them and they feel great in your hands. The only slight issue I had with them is that in some operations I found that the adjusting mechanism caught and bound up the pliers as I opened and closed them while turning on a fitting. It didn’t always happen but when it did it was annoying. I’d like to see Milwaukee look at tuning the fit of the mechanism a bit to help avoid this.Who is this for:Anyone working with fixtures and fittings that are soft metal or that can’t be scratched up. Who isn’t this for:Anyone trying to grip and twist smooth round items where it would be okay for toothed jaws to leave marks. Conclusion:Well made pliers that I’ll be reaching for first most of the time.

Nice smooth jaw pliers at a good price that will last beyond your years.Noteworthy items:• These are smooth jaw pliers and yes they are smooth. I would not be concerned about these damaging surfaces as long as you are careful. They are designed to prevent marring.• The jaw surface is large which helps with the clamping.• Pretty standard grip. Nothing out of the ordinary. The rubber provides adequate grip dry/wet, hot/cold, or with/without gloves.• The pliers stay aligned at all times. No unnecessary movement in the motion.• They also stayed in place/tight during my applications. I had no slipping or binding while using them.• You can use the head for reaming, but of course you would expect that.• The price is good, especially considering the warranty and how well they are made.I couldn’t find any issues. These are well made pliers that will last for decades. I recommend.

If you are familiar with plumbing chores around the house you either have a pair of these smooth jaw pliers or you should think about adding at least one pair of these to your tool box. Milwaukee once again makes a professional grade hand tool that is not only made of quality materials, but comfortable in your hand. This is an excellent tool for loosening and tighten all kinds of plumbing fixtures. You need this type with the smooth jaws so you don’t scratch delicate plated finishes. Also because the faces are smooth it gives you an adjustable clamping face to use on any nut you may need to tighten or break loose including my favorite use, those pesky garden hoses. With the plastic dipped handles you won’t lose your grip and they feel good in the hand.

Smooth jaw 10-inch pliers designed to prevent scratching finished surfaces. Jaw opening is adjustable to 2 inches. Feels durable and strong. Handles have some side-to-side play; does not interfere with function. Dipped handle coatings cover the ends with no exposed metal tips. It’s too soon to evaluate long term durability. Lifetime warranty covers manufacturing defects, not wear. Rust resistant finish. Made in China.

The Milwaukee 10” smooth-jaw pliers appear well made. Fine grain forging, precision ground, with rust protection. Jaw surfaces are flat and smooth. Red dipped ergonomic grips feel nice in the hand. I always wondered how Richard Trithuley (the plumber on This Old House) managed to loosen and tighten chrome fixtures without scratching. Now I know. I simply never knew about smooth jawed pliers (channel locks). I recently used a pair for the first time while replacing the kitchen faucet at my parents; my father had a pair. I think I might still use a rag between the jaws and pliers on a new fixture … just in case.“Limited Lifetime Warranty” that typically applies only to defects in workmanship, not normal wear and tear. (Durability will only be known 20 years from now.)Negative: None, although I might give the pivot pin a whack to reduce the little bit of side-to-side play in the jaws.“Engineered by Milwaukee Tool – Professionally Made in China”.

Good quality pliers and a reasonable price. The action on the pliers is very smooth which makes adjusting the jaw spacing quick and easy. The pliers have a nice polished face and a coating that should go a long way to eliminating rust. These should work well for sink and shower installations. In the past I have tried strap wrenches or a strip of leather under a standard set of pliers. It was always a struggle. These smooth jaw pliers will make the job a lot easier.

The 10 IN. SMOOTH JAW PLIERS made by Milwaukee is an essential tool for your tool box if you do any type of plumbing work. The smooth jaw pliers are great to use for tightening any of your easily seen plumbing connections (such as tightening the shower head) because they do not leave those bite marks like regular pliers. The one thing I was a little disappointed in was that in changing the size of the grip the two pieces do not mesh together very smooth causing you to fidget with it a little. This is no worse than other pliers but the disappointment was that it was really no better.

I really love these pliers. I’ve had lots of channel-locking type pliers before, and I always try to keep a pair around for odds and ends, but the one thing I have always hated is that 8 times out of ten the teeth on the normal pliers ends up causing some kind of damage that you immediately regret. With these bad boys that’s not an issue. You can get a better grip than a normal adjustable wrench will give you (in my opinion) with no damage to the nut/bolt you are working with. These adjust easy and the grip is comfortable in the hand.
