There’s about 1/2 mm of slop. You can see the gap between the screw and the knuckles on the jaw. Compared to my Cresent wrench, it has about 1mm of slop. There’s room for improvement though.

I love the wide jaws on this wrench. It is nice to have one tool that can be used in a number of different applications. It’s well built and heavy. The company has a limited lifetime warranty onthe product. THe screw portion is such that it won’t back off once it is set in place unless you back it off yourself. I like that there are inches engraved on the jaws. I’m never disappointed in a tool from Milwaukee.

This is my go-to size of adjustable wrench. I am a plumber and a lot of my work is larger than typical auto or home maintenance, but conversely it does not necessarily require an insane amount of tightness. I use these nearly every day for tightening various fixtures and nuts/bolts that I don’t want to mar the finish of. I have a spud wrench for larger applications, but this works the majority of the time.

The wide mouth makes all the difference in this tool. And the 8 in. length is perfect. Most other “wide mouth” adjustable wrenches are way too long for my purposes.

This Milwaukee 8″ Adjustable Wrench was well built, versatile and very easy to handle and deserve to be in everyone’s toolbox. First of all, it opens wide enough for most jobs and it grips with confidence. There is an adjustment screw to ensure the Jaws will not back off which is a great feature. The ruler was easy to read for size adjustment and the ergonomic handle makes tough jobs easy to handle. Great product.

I’ve always despised adjustable wrenches because the jaws move constantly in use, and slip off the nut/bolt being driven. When they slip off you have to open them up, retighten them on the nut/bolt, and try again. Not so with the new Milwaukee adjustable wrench – and I finally have one I will use! The backlash on this wrench measured a mere 0.028 inches, compared to 0.047″ on another name-brand, high-quality wrench of similar size, and 0.065” for a cheaper brand. That difference translates to virtually no slippage and readjustment of the jaws during use. I could also take the wrench off the bolt and reinsert it without adjusting the jaws, something I can never do with other adjustable wrenches. This wrench also opens wider than a typical 8” long wrench, to a full 1-9/16” (40mm,) and has engraved markings in both SAE and metric showing the jaw opening size – and it’s accurate. The wrench isn’t cheap but it’s the most functional adjustable wrench I’ve used. If you don’t need the WIDE jaws on an 8” wrench you can save a few dollars and even get a longer (10”) wrench. Whatever option you choose, these Milwaukee adjustable wrenches are outstanding.

This is the best adjustable wrench out there. Short enough to fit just about anywhere, the handle lets you get a large amount of muscle to use and the handle is soft enough to use excessive force without hurting your hands. They open wide enough to put larger versions to shame. This wrench has an amazingly big mouth. Nice tight jaw and good quality steel well plated / coated. Will last you forever if you don’t loose it.

To me, this wrench redefined how useful an adjustable wrench can be, and for the one major reason that makes adjustable wrenches almost useless in many situations. The jaws have almost no slack. When testing this wrench out, the jaw had so little play in it’s position that I could not even see it with my eyes, I could only feel it with the tiniest little movement in my fingers. The movement and action is tight and secure. The screw doesnt turn while using, so the jaws do not work themselves loose while is use, resulting in wider and wider jaws until re-adjustment is necessary. The wrench is of good construction, and the laser-engraved scales (one side metric one side SAE) makes it easy to get it in the ballpark of where you need the jaws, then fine-tuning on the bolt itself. The jaws seem durable when used under intended purposes, and should last a decent amount of time. An adjustable wrench is no replacement for a dedicated wrench set, but keeping this in your go bag for work eliminates carrying around an entire set of wrenches or completely destroying bolt heads trying to use channel locks.

Opens over 1 1/2″ great wrench. Only down side is they don’t carry it in the store.

This little adjustable wrench is a little game changer. Sometimes when I am working on things I find myself trying to loosen or tighten in tight, cramped or awkward spaces. This wide jaw wrench allows my to access larger pieces in smaller tighter spaces. It handles easily and the wide jaw does provide very welcome additional extra capacity and versatility not found or available in standard 8″ adjustable wrenches.

WOW these things can open! The problem with big wrenches is that you can’t get them into tight spaces. But little wrenches just don’t open nearly far enough in most cases. This the perfect compromise. You do sacrifice some leverage in the handle length, but you gain in space savings and the ability to get it in where the bigger wrenches just can’t go. This is a MUST HAVE tool for your box.

The steel finishing on the inner grips was not finished too well, but it will work.

It is wide-jawed indeed!

As a plumber by trade it’s nice to have a tool that you can rely on. I often work in confined areas under sinks, behind toilets etc. and a large adjustable wrench just won’t fit BUT I need the larger wide jaw to do what needs to be done. This wrench works great. It adjusts smoothly, is comfortable in the hand and has some weight to it. It doesn’t feel flimsy like a lot of tools out there. So far I’m quite happy with it.

Absolutely love this wrench. Wish they made it in more sizes. Easy one handed operation. Feels smooth with almost no play.

This wrench seldom ever slips, in fact I usually have the opposite problem of them not coming off what I am wrenching. Feels good in the hand and built stout. You will not be disappointed by this wrench!

You can feel the sturdiness and high-grade construction of the Milwaukee 8” Wide Jaw Adjustable Wrench when you pick it up. It is well weighted and comfortable in your hand. You do get the idea that you could stand on this wrench if you needed to. The adjustment mechanism is tight and precise. The jaws actually open wider than they do on my regular 10” and 12” adjustable wrenches. A handy SAE scale is laser etched on one side of the wrench in 1/8” increments and a metric scale in millimeter increments is laser etched on the other. I checked the accuracy of both scales against my combination wrenches and found them to be right on. Overall, the Milwaukee 8” Wide Jaw Adjustable Wrench has been a good addition to my toolbox. The 8” size together with the wide opening jaws make this one handy adjustable wrench for most situations. I would definitely recommend this wrench to a friend.
