As hammers go, has a great feel, don’t notice any of the ringing you might get with other hammers. I really like the straight claw. If there is a drawback ( I’m not completely convinced it is) you feel the weight of the tool, some hammers state they feel lighter and have a greater impact, this hammer feels heavy and packs a very solid punch on impact. If you are someone that swings a hammer daily, you might have a different opinion, I am a homeowner do it yourselfer type. But for the time I have had this tool and used it a few times, it appears to be of really good quality and should provide me many years if not a lifetime of satisfaction.

Bought all three new editions of these hammers and you can tell a lot of R&D went into them. From the second gen grip shared from other hand tools to nail holders and frame design its a beast.

The Milwaukee 22 oz Smooth Face Framing Hammer is a top of the line tool that is ergonomically designed to help reduce fatigue in the hands. The design also has a magnetic nail set which helps in the job at hand. One of the things that I noticed right away is how well balanced this tool feels in your hand. It comes with a grip that helps reduce vibrations in the handle.

The weight is balanced perfectly, the magnet works great for starting nails, and it really doesn’t ring as much as the older framing hammers I have. Not sure why the smooth faced version is more expensive than the milled face model, but I still think it was worth the price.

It’s hammer time. Ordered this Milwaukee. Hammer with the hope and reliability of the Milwaukee brand it worked nice. For hammering in a wide variety of nails and it’s a one hit wonder simply place the nail on the slit in the head should stick to the magnet firm the nail head and hit it with your hardest. Then tap in But one thing I did notice was the metal appeared softer then hammers I’v used in the past Which the Milwaukee hammer dented and scratched more easly See attached photos of what two weeks of hammering did
