As usual Milwaukee products deliver. A 1/4 inch drive set engineered to improve durability and make the end users life easier. 26 piece set has quite a few of the most popular sizes and includes small and large extensions, and universal coupler. Squared off ends on sockets make it easy to add a wrench if needed. The ratchet set finish is excellent and overall you can feel the quality. The case is nice and includes hangers for peg board storage.Milwaukee quality.

Professional quality! Although a hardcore DIY’r now, there was a time when I made my living with tools like this. I still have three stacking toolboxes absolutely full of high-end tools, air impacts, etc… My tools go back forty-five years, and can still handle any job today. That’s what you get with professional quality tools. They last forever. I put this Milwaukee tool-set solidly in that category. A few items I really like is the fine tooth motion of the ratchet, the sockets have a flat spot for a wrench, the extensions are ribbed (allowing for hand tightening/loosening without using a “spinner”. I like they have both shallow and deep sockets. My only concern is the fit and finish is perfect, almost too pretty to put through their paces. I’m not known to go easy on tools, so they need to be the best. I feel these qualify as one of the best.

I have been using mechanics tools for over 65 years and this ¼” drive socket set is the nicest set of small sockets I have ever used. They are polished chrome and sizes are engraved as many sets are but that is just the beginning. This set has a unique feature. All the sockets have square drive ends. This innovation works great as you start a nut or bolt by hand. It also lets you use an open end wrench on the socket in tight places, keeps it from rolling away and best of all it allows you to get a grip on the socket when you are removing it from the ratchet or extension. The extensions have a knurled section to assist in getting a grip as well. Anyone who has worked with oily slippery hands, and now with gloved oily slippery hands, will definitely appreciate these “grips”. The ratchet has a good feel to it and the 4 degree increments are nice. The set with all sizes 5/32” to 9/16” is perfect for working under the hood of an older car.

Frankly I already had a pretty good quality quarter drive inch socket set (by Grip) but when I saw these Milwaukee ones I had to try them being a huge Milwaukee fan. And I have to say I believe these are the best made quarter inch drive socket sets I have seen. The build quality is fantastic. The bases are VERY solid and the ratchet is well made. The only improvement I can see possible would be a quick release like the one on my Grip ratchet. The markings are large and easy to see. The case is good quality. And the assortment given in both the metric and SAE sets is great with both deep well and regular depth versions of each (a lot better than my Grip ones which I thought were a pretty good set.) It comes with a good set of extensions too which are nicely knurled. You can’t go wrong with these if you want good quality tools. Kudos to Milwaukee for putting out quality product. Do yourself a favor if you need some ¼ in drive sets and get them both.

This video is a review of the Milwaukee 26pc socket kit. This kit includes a plastic storage box along with a plastic removable tray that will fit in a tool box. The set is 1/2″ drive and comes with standard and deep sockets, (2) extensions, swivel socket and 90 tooth ratchet. It goes from 5/32 to 9/16 and the sockets are square at the base which I believe is so you can put a wrench on them. This is a nice little kit and I would recommend it. This kit comes with a lifetime warranty and retails for $69 at home depot.

I’ve been looking at this set for awhile now. The fact that it can fit into a packout (needs a different packout tray to do so) is outstanding! Super happy with it.

It’s the small size ratchet, but it’s very high quality and compact enough to throw in the trunk or behind the truck seat and feel confident when you have to have a ratchet set for whatever reason. The case is very functional and secure, the sockets are very accurate (no slop), and the ratchet, for the 1/4″ size can surprisingly handle anything without fear of breaking. This might end up being my go to ratchet set.

These tools work as great as they look! I’m a tool guy and presentation, along with good looks are part of the tool selection process. Milwaukee did a great job in making a decent ratchet and socket set, and one look will tell you the presentation and looks are in check. The chrome is shiny, the case is solid and a great place to store them so they are readily available and in the proper place. As for function, I used them on multiple nuts to see if they were as sturdy as they are advertised. I had zero problems working out even the most stubborn nut from its corroded location. You get the standard (shallow) sockets, deep well sockets, a couple of extensions and a universal joint. You can remove the tray from the box and then return to the case when done. I’m sure you too will be as impressed as I am……you should order two sets. One to hang on the wall that you can stare at because this is one beautiful set and one set for doing the work you are buying it to do. Home Depot has a very decent return policy – so go ahead and give it a try, if it isn’t all I’ve said it is, a simple return can be done at your local Home Depot store.

I love this set for many reasons. I love the boldly marked sockets, the square ends to prevent roll off, and most importantly the carry case with removable tray

The MILWAUKEE SAE 28 piece 3/8″ drive ratchet & socket set is more than complete with the most often needed SAE sockets, drive extensions and attachments. I like the way that everything is kept together in a portable, protective case and arranged so that it is easy to find the exact tool for the job. I acquired the SAE version of Milwaukee’s 3/8ths drive, ratchet and socket set because a great many of the nuts, bolts and screws on my vintage automobiles and farm machinery are sized in inches and fractions thereof—not metric. The sockets in this set are uniquely designed to be used in tight spaces by having parallel flats at the drive end sized to fit standard open-ended wrenches. This feature is particularly helpful with hard-to-access bolts and nuts. The set offers a 4° reset arc on the ratchet to reduce the amount of drive handle “swing” space required. All of the sockets and attachments snap firmly onto the ergonomically designed ratchet drive and are easily removed by a firm pull of the hand. The sockets have a good feel to them and are easily identifiable by substantially large numbers on the sides. I really enjoy the removable tool tray in the protective carrying case because I lift it out (with all the tools still in place) and place it into a drawer of my metal tool chest use in my workshop. I can then, put them back in the easy-to-carry case for outside work. I like working with the MILWAUKEE SAE 28 piece 3/8″ drive ratchet & socket set and recommend it for your tool collection.

This ratchet and socket set is quality made, complete with both deep well and normal sockets, a 90 tooth ratchet, two extensions, and a u-joint. The ratchet has a super smooth action, and a multi-tooth pawl for great engagement of the drive gear. The sockets all have square ends, which helps prevent rolling, and can be used with a wrench too. Although it’s not often you’ll need that feature, I can think of at least one time where I could fit a socket but not the ratchet on the back of it, and the square design would have come in handy. The tray can come out of case if you want to store it in a toolbox drawer, but be warned the tools just sit in the tray with no retention, so don’t tilt it too much! This does make it easier to grab something when you need it though, since I’ve had socket sets that have too much retention. The chrome looks great on all components, but the stamped letters could be a little more clear for some of the smaller numbers.
