This review is for Milwaukee 1/4-inch drive 26-piece SAE socket set Product No. 48-22-9404. I am impressed with the organized case for this set, it being of tough high impact plastic with steel pinned hinged cover, handy sliding-type closure and tool slots that facilitate easy removal of the tool pieces. The sockets are all clearly and deeply stamped with the sizes and are all six-point type, my preference for driving hex-head fasteners. What I especially appreciate is the square base shape for the sockets that prevents them from rolling off of the working surface when removed from the drive ratchet and placed aside. The square rather than round socket profiles also facilitate wrench assists for extra removal and fastening torque, a nice innovation. The drive ratchet is low profile, having an overall length from tip to tip of about 5-12 inches. The ratchet system provides for a handy small arc of 4 degrees per click position. All if the pieces have a high quality chrome-plate finish. This set has a limited lifetime warranty. This is a high quality tool set that is a very welcome replacement for my old 1/4-inch SAE socket set.

Ratchet handle fits well in the hand with no slippage.Sockets are a nice design with deep easy to read markings and a squared off drive end to allow use of a wrench if extra leverage is needed.Sockets fit the fasteners well and have a offset engagement design.

I have owned many socket sets over the years but this set is the best I have owned including tool truck brands. The square shaped drive end is very handy and speeds nut & bolt removal. Milwaukee has come a long way in the tool business. This set with the square sockets is unbelievable. It is so easy to use and it doesn’t slip from the greasy fingers. Each socket is marked for easy identification even when covered in grease and oil. The ratchet has a 3 degree throw arch which makes it very easy to use in a cramped space. The pop out tray is nice if you dont want to take the storage box with you when you are working out od a tool box with drawers. It stores in the drawers nicely. This is a rugged set and should last me a long time. Its not a terribly big set but its perfect for the DIY’er. Good investment for my tool kits.

I was to excited to get my 3/8 in. Drive SAE Ratchet and Socket Set (28-Piece). I have a few Milwaukee tools & they are 2nd to none. The ratchet is a fine tooth one & works awesome. The sockets are marked pretty good but I wish they were painted too like there wrenches. The case for the socket set is very nice & it will be easy to keep track of them. I will be using these for many years to come.

3/8 in. Drive SAE Ratchet and Socket Mechanics Tool Set (28-Piece)I really like the squared sides on these sockets because they are easier to hold with oily hands, they do not roll away on me and I can put a wrench on them when needed. The ratchet feels heavy, sturdy and has a couple flat edges plus the 90 tooth ratchet lets me tighten or loosen with less room to swing the handle because each click is closer together than any other ratchets I have ever had. There are groves on the extensions that help hold or turn them. The carrying case is heavy enough to hold up nice and the inside there is a removable tray that holds the tools and can be placed in your tool cabinet.
