Well I used to buy Craftsman and have some very fine Professional grade sets, unfortunately despite their “lifetime” guarantee they are no longer made so I can never actually replace them if I were to break one. So, because of this, I started looking for some high quality Lifetime guaranteed wrench sets to modernize my tool sets. There are plenty available for sure, but I found them all to be pretty much identical and having a wide range of cost none of them inspired me, then I came upon these gorgeous wrenches from Milwaukee and really appreciated their innovation and high-quality construction. Now I will readily admit that nearly every feature of these wrenches is available from other MFR’s but interestingly no one offers them all together except Milwaukee and that was the deciding factor (along with their reasonable price) for me. The modified “I” beam shank design is really easy on your hands. I call it a modified “I” beam design because while these are clearly shaped like an I-beam Milwaukee Engineers rounded or tapered the more traditionally sharp edges to provide for much more comfort than the blade shank design and avoids the other “hot spots” from traditional I-beam designs, for me it is a perfect compromise. These also have large easy to read contrast painted size markings on them which doesn’t make you have to strain to see them when you are looking for that particular size even from a distance they’re easy to distinguish. Finally, and probably the best innovation/feature is their “max bite open-end grip”. Milwaukee has done a really great job solving some long-standing short comings of standard open-end wrenches by likely completely removing the tendency for them to round over fasteners and at the same time providing more grip than those same traditional open-end wrenches we have all been using for decades. I wouldn’t be honest if I didn’t mention that while the box-end is by no means thick and bulky it is not the thinnest wall available but to get a real thin wall combination wrench set you would need to spend 2 or 3 times what these cost and I don’t need them that thin for the kind of work I do, so for me, this is not an issue but you will have to decide for yourselves depending on what you are willing to spend and how you intend to use them. Needless to say, I am extremely happy with my decision to purchase these modern high-quality innovative combination wrenches and highly recommend them to others. Hey Milwaukee make a nice canvas Logo roll-up pouch for these!

Fantastic set of wrenches. Really good at grabbing that stubborn nut or bolt and gives it that extra force to break them free. Only downside is once it is free it is a little tricky to release the wrench and put back on to continue de-threading the nut or bolt. Come out with a master mechanic set.

The best wrench set I’ve had Milwaukee tools are the best

Outstanding fit, feel and finish. Rivals tool truck wrenches at 1/3 the cost. I bought the metric and standard sets, they are complete sets and skip no sizes. The trays they come in fit nicely together in my toolbox, side by side as the metric are in ascending order and the standard in descending order. Very nice tools.

These are a wonderful addition to my ever growing collection of tools and have now replaced my unorganized drawer filled with various branded wrenches that I’ve collected over the years. So far these have exceeded my expectations in nearly every way and I could not be happier. The open ends of the wrenches have something Milwaukee calls MAX BITE and it looks as though the wrenches have teeth on them which really does aid in preventing slippage. The I-Beam design of these makes them very ergonomic and easy to handle while the red ink filled writing makes finding the right size much easier. The included storage tray fits very nicely in the drawer of a tool box. I threw out the red zip tie looking supports that held these down, but it may be something worth holding onto.

This Milwaukee Max Bite wrench set is great! Starting with the plastic case. It is very well built and has markings for each different wrench size for easy placement once used. It is a set of 7 wrenches. The smallest one is 3/8” and then it goes up in 1/16th of an inch increment until reaching ¾”. The max bite feature is great. They are designed to give you 25% more grab than other conventional wrenches. It also helps with not stripping down fasteners. Both sides showed very tight grip on fasteners. I love the concave body of the wrench, it allows for better gripping with your thumb. They also look great. Milwaukee did a great job at finishing these tools. These have lifetime warranty, so you can’t beat that either. In my opinion these are well worth the price!

The biggest issue my husband has had with open ended wrenches is the slippage that occurs when applying high torque. It hurts and damages his hand. He does most of the projects that require high torque. Milwaukee has solved this with a new, innovative design. By putting a series of ribs and a special contour at the center of the open wrench part of the tool, the wrench grabs the nut in a manner that makes the nut’s hex points catch on one of the ribs and reduces the chance of slippage. The 7 wrenches step in 1/16” increments from ⅜ to ¾ “. The size labels are engraved four times on each wrench and painted red which makes it easy to spot the right size quickly. This is nice since I get the job of handing the correct size to him when we are working on a project. The I-beam handle design makes the handle very comfortable. The storage case with the tote handle on top is a useful addition which helps me keep my wrenches organized. The storage case enables one to more easily find the wrenches in our tool bag, and it is easy to carry the wrenches around from project to project. You do need to make sure that the latch is closed securely or the wrenches will all fall out. This SAE Wrench Set is of very high quality, innovative/improved design, easy to identify right size, and high user comfort. Anyone who uses these wrenches will never want to go back to older wrench designs.

These are really nice wrenches. The finish is smooth but not too slippery, the shape of the handles is a bit different which makes them comfortable to hold. There is a modification to the open end…they have milled in some “non-slip” ridges that really do seem to make the wrench grip more securely to a worn nut and reduce the “round-over” tendency. And if you already have a shop full of Milwaukee tools, you just have to have these to make your garage look good.

I am not a master mechanic, but appreciate good tools. These are high quality open ended wrenches and box end wrenches. I got the SAE version. Very happy and if I don’t lose the tools, will be able to hand them down to my children when I join the great tool box in the sky. This set is Made in Taiwan and Engineered by Milwaukee Tool. They are Chrome Plated and have mirror looking finish and you can see your finger prints on them (little on a slippery side if you work with cotton glows ).The engrave wrench size is filed with red paint and is very easy to spot it and they are big.As for warranty the set come with Life Time warranty which is good, only complaint about warranty I have is that you can’t simply bring to the Home Depot for exchange you have to mail it to the Milwaukee to clam the warranty.Would I buy more tools from Milwaukee, yes I will buy more tools from Milwaukee.

Combination SAE Wrench Set (15-PieceHaving a Milwaukee wrench set from a few years back and although the set has held up well, the torque was not the best. Admittedly, I did use a 2 inch ID pipe to give me that added torque needed for stubborn bolts which resulted in a few `teeth` being damaged. This is not so on their new design. In stripping an old engine last night I reluctantly used that same pipe slotted at the end to remove a difficult 5/16’ and a ¾“fastener that refused to budge, even after using penetrating oil. I hated having to use the pipe extension, especially on my new set. But all was good and after a loud `crack` both bolts came loose enough for me to remove the extension and use the I-Beam` handle. Carefully checking the wrench afterwards there is no sign whatsoever of any stress related damage to any of the 12 teeth. The red plastic carrier measures 15 x 15 and the length of the wrenches range from the ¼” size at 5 inches to the 1 inch size at 13 inches long. The ¼ inch SAE is a ¼ inch wide at the working end and the 1 inch is ½ inch wide also at the working end.The plastic storage tray I have mixed feeling about. Although the two plastic strips slot through all the wrenches holding then secure, I did find it somewhat annoying having to take the whole set out of my sliding tool chest, remove the strips just to remove one wrench. Am I being petty? Of course I am. One wrench is much easier to find when the whole set is together. What can I say? More haste, less speed and so will keep them all together. The 12 teeth or points as some people use give the wrench a strong and secure grip with little to no play, depending on the quality of the nut to be removed. The same applies to the open ends.Ink-filled size labels are a very useful addition and are of a first class Milwaukee offers a Lifetime Guarantee on all of their Combination Wrench Sets.In a final point this set is not Ratcheting. It is a wrench set and is certainly one of the better ones on the market and I believe it is the best. Highly recommended. And well worth the asking price. Each wrench is forged from the highest-quality chrome vanadium steel and are designed to last a lifetime.
