A couple of years ago I passed on my Dad’s vintage Craftsman open end wrenches to my son who had purchased his first car. Since that time I’ve been using a backup set of 20 year old Husky wrenches but when these Milwaukee ratcheting combo wrenches went on sale I jumped on them. It was a good decision as they are built to last and feel “right” in my hands. The MAX BITE open end design provides a secure grip and the fine (144) tooth gearing and double-stacked pawls allow the ratchets to operate in the tightest of quarters (2.5 degrees arc swing). Keep ’em locked up or your friends, family, aquaintances and co-workers will walk away with them!

This is a great set and saved me a lot of hassle when working on cramped spaces in my diesel truck.

Pros: they don’t slip off any nut or bolt, the racheting mechanism has a very small angle of movement and it’s smooth after some useCons: the price. I got them on sale for 40% off. At that price definitely worth it

These wrenches are marketed by Milwaukee Tools a manufacturer I have come to trust. While using the tools I found the fit and finish of the wrenches do show well for Milwaukee Tools. The strength of the open end and the ratcheting box end worked without flaw. I can say without exception these wrenches will get the job done without failure. The smooth finish actually gives you the feeling that they really cared when these wrenches were made. If you have shopped for tools lately that in its self is an improvement.

I have been nothing but impressed with all my Milwaukee tools and this set of wrenches is no exception. They’re heavy duty and beautiful at the same time. They nicely fit in your hand and are very functional with the many ratcheting positions and the extra notch-out in the open end of the wrench. I have both the standard and metric sets and use them on a regular basis. I also really like the large ID numbers that allow you to see the wrench you want easily. I’m getting older and have to grab glasses so many times just to see what wrench I’m getting, no longer! They’re a little pricey but this will be the last set of wrenches like this you ever have to buy.

I have always been a big fan of Milwaukee power tools and I am just as impressed with these wrenches. The fit an finish of each wrench is impeccable. The size of each wrench is crisply stamped and ink filled on each end of the wrench on both sides. The I beam handle portion of the wrench has been well thought out from an ergonomic perspective. There is a groove down the middle of the handle while the edges are wider and rounded over. The handle is slightly wider in the middle and tapers slightly toward the ratchet and wrench heads. You pick up this wrench and it immediately feels good in your hands. The combination of features in the handle alone allow you to exert much more force on a stuck bolt without biting into your hand. The open end of the wrench features Max Bite which is supposed to provide 25% more torque. Two things that are noticeable about the Max Bite system are that there are small relief cuts in the wrench where the corners of the bolt head would normally contact the wrench. This allows force to be exerted on the flat portion of the bolt head vs the corners. A big plus, and I think that is how they get the increased torque as well. There are also some small grooves cut into the flats of the open ended head of the wrench. These work surprisingly well in preventing the wrench from slipping off the bolt. And no they do not mar the bolt head. The ratchet end of the wrench has a 12 point box wrench end plus a 2.5 degree arc swing. That’s 144 clicks for 1 revolution. Perfect for getting into tight spaces. To reverse direction simply flip the wrench over. The caddie that comes with the wrench set is also well thought out, keeping the wrenches well organized and easily portable. If I could change would thing, it would be using Milwaukee Red ink to mark the size of each wrench vs black. You can’t beat a lifetime guarantee. All in all another great product by Milwaukee.

The Milwaukee Metric Combination Ratcheting 7-piece Wrench Set represents Superb hand tools in function, performance, ergonomics and beauty (aesthetically pleasing)! The internal flats of the open-end side offer corrugated ridges that seem to grip nuts and bolt heads better than my regular open end sets. The ratcheting boxed end has a very positive, very fine dual pawl toothed action for minute adjustments of swing, coming in at an amazing 144 clicks, or just 2.5 degrees adjustment per click…very nice (previous pro set was 10 deg per click)! Each wrench size adds 20% more length than my previous pro combinationratcheting set, which equates to more torque applying ability. The narrow I-beam construction makes the shafts very durable and strong, allowing the swing to fit into tighter places. Finally, the fit and finish of each metric wrench is excellent. From it’s deep polished “easy to clean” finish, to the painted-in recessed size markings (located both ends & both sides=easyquick ID) and the laser-etched (one side) raised letter logos (other side), I almost want to frame this well built wrench set holder and tool assembly to display over my work bench area! Though pricey, no doubt these combo wrenches will last well past my lifetime!!

The Milwaukee Tools Metric Combination Ratcheting 7-Piece Wrench Set is made of drop forged steel, and then finished with chrome. These wrenches are comfortable in my hands while using them. The open end of the wrenches are uniquely designed with grooving on the tools surfaces. The ratcheting end works great when there is limited access to loosen a nut or bolt, where a socket wrench won’t fit. Then Milwaukee Tools includes a durable wrench storage case to keep them neatly together when it’s time to store the set until there next use.

Quality finish. Quality heft. Large, painted size indicator on each wrench. Smooth ratcheting with small arc swing for tight spaces.I have the SAE set too. The storage case is reversed for the SAE set so the 2 cases fit in a drawer with no wasted space. The hangers are made to be removed if not needed.Home Depot price is far lower than discount online tool sellers.

Product should have come with advice or at least options for storing this tool set in the new Milwaukee Pack-Out toolbox. The tray shipped with the tools will not fit in any size of the Milwaukee Pack-Out toolboxThe wrench set is very well made with very high quality fit and finish.

These things are awesone. They feel great in your hands, have a powerful grip/torque, and the ratcheting is smooth. I only wish they didn’t look so nice because I don’t want to get them dirty!

Let me get the bad news over with. These wrenches are a little pricey. The price per wrench is above comparable offerings from more established hand tool brands. They are also standard length, as opposed to extra long / long pattern, which offer a bit more leverage. Now the good news. These wrenches are awesome. Not only do they have an insanely high tooth count, a mirror like and flawless chrome finish that seems to be heavily applied, they have rounded edges, they curve up towards the middle, they have grooves along the thick part of the beam for reinforcement and serving as a nice cradle for your thumb, they have teeth on the open end for superior gripping power, they proudly say Milwaukee in raised lettering on one side so even if you drop it in a pan of old motor oil, you’ll still know who made it.In short, a triumphant entry into ratcheting wrenches for Big Red.Color me impressed. Now I’m a big fan of the Husky and GearWrench ratcheting wrenches, also available at Home Depot, but like so many things, Milwaukee didn’t simply copy the competition, they tried to one up it. The result is a compelling set of wrenches that are pricey, but you won’t be disappointed if you pony up for them.Couple things to keep in mind: the box ends are not offset. They are not reversing. They are 144 positions which equate to a 2.5 degree arc swing, one of the best in the industry. They achieve this with dual pawls and 72 teeth, giving you that low arc swing without sacrificing strength. They operate smoothly.

These wrenches are excellent tools. I’ve been using them for a couple of months. The quality is top-notch and the combination of open-end wrench and ratcheting functionality is very useful to me. The grip on the wrenches is surprisingly comfortable. All-in-all a well-designed and manufactured tool. The “Max bite” grip on the open-end dramatically improves the wrench’s grip on small nuts and bolts. When small fasteners are torqued on tight, I sometimes have difficulty getting them loose without rounding off the points on the hex heads. The max bite really increases the probability that I can get the nut loose without damaging the heads. The wrenches come in a very useful carrying case. I put mine in one of the drawers (22.25 wide x 16.75 deep) in my toolbox and it fits perfectly with the companion case for the SAE set (see photo).
