Over the years I have always preferred the heavy duty tape measures especially the longer ones as they made my job easier in both interior design and construction both of which I have had over 30 years experience in. The first thing I noticed and had to try is that the tape would extend at least 14 feet without breaking over. It did as stated to my delight. I soon discovered that on the underside near the beginning that it had a 12 inch 1/4 – 1/2 Architects scale which really is a needed part of a well thought out useful working tape. Big but well made and designed to help get the job done.

I got this tape measure a couple weeks ago and I love it. It is very nice quality. I like that the tape is very thick so I don’t have to worry about it bending and moving too much when I use it. Its great that it has measurements on both sides to make things much easier. Overall its a nice sturdy tape measure that works great and I’m glad I got it.

Big improvement over the original STUD tapes. I like this a lot. It’s a bit more compact but still a substantial tape. I love the ant-tear coating, and this has a 14 foot standout – impressive for a 16 foot tape. If I’m careful I can get 14 feet 4″ before it snaps. The numbers are easy to read and printed on both sides. There is an architectural scale on the back. I’m not about to test the 80 foot fall claim, but I’m definitely not concerned about tossing this around

As an Interior designer with A LOT of remodeling projects, a tape measure is one of the most important tools that gets used on a DAILY basis. Too often, I’m alone, and trying to measure a long wall with a flimsy tape measure that will “fold” when extended just a short distance. This Milwaukee STUD showed what it’s made of from the first time I used it. AND the fact that it’s imprinted on both top and bottom of the tape make is doubly functional. This Milwaukee STUD will be my “GO TO” measuring tape from now on. I’ll be giving away all of the others in my arsenal. Why even bother with 2nd best.

This tape measure is a great little machine. Not only is it a strong and sturdy but the depth measurement is outstanding. The fact that there is the stop to aid in retraction is huge as well as the longer length of the tape. If I drop this, I won’t have to worry as I’ve broken a few in the past. Really liking the large print on the blade and that it is two sided! Win, win!’

The Milwaukee 16 ft. x 1.3 in. Gen II STUD Tape Measure with 17 ft. Reach is a very sturdy tape measure that will definitely withstand a lot of beating or even more day to day use. The tape itself is very rigid and moves very smoothly in and out of the outer shell of the tape measure. Markings are present on both the top and bottom of the tape and smaller increments are featured on either side of it. The clip on the side is very strong and is also removable and replaceable if it does in fact fail. The lock for the tape is also very strong and grips onto the tape very well and is also very easy to lock and unlock. All in all, it’s very well built and is a perfect tape measure.
