This tape measurer is perfect for every job! It consistently has a 13-14 ft reach, which makes doing projects on your own easier when there’s not someone or something to help hold down the other side. The magnet is extremely strong! I am able to get the full 25 ft reach when using the magnet. The numbers are very big so there’s no squinting to see your measurement. All in all, it is an excellent tape measurer!

I recently got this measuring tape because I wanted one that could cover a larger distance. I went with this one because the magnetic feature intrigued me. After using this a few times while working in my basement, I was surprised at just how handy the magnetic end is. The magnet is strong enough to hold tight most of the time and has no problem “locking on” to metal studs through drywall. The measuring tape is rather large and bulky, but that’s expected with 25 feet of tape. Definitely not one that I’d carry around on a regular basis, but works perfect for its intended purposes. The blade is wide and clear making it extremely easy to read. Milwaukee claims that it’ll survive an 80′ drop, but I prefer not to test out that theory…yet. This has turned out to be an extremely useful tool for me and the features are surprisingly practical. Highly recommend!

I am so glad I finally have my own measuring tape!! I was always stealing my husband’s and now apparently he wants mine, this one!!! I love this measuring tape, my top two things are because one it has big numbers on it, and 2 because it’s magnetic. The end of it has a good edge so it will hold in place while measuring or if it’s metal the magnet does have a powerful hold. My eyesight isn’t the best so the big numbers are easy to read and helpful to me. The measuring tape also has the stud markings in red for framing. I have my own tool bag for my own little projects and that’s where I put my new measuring tape at!! This is a heavy duty measuring tape, feels well made.

This is the new (I think it’s the 2nd generation) Milwaukee 25’ STUD magnetic tape measure (48-22-9725M). Photo 1 shows the back of the package. This newer tape measure is printed on both sides of the tape (the previous one was not), and boasts a 14’ standout. Like the previous one, Milwaukee claims the tape will survive an 80 foot drop (onto packed soil), and that the blade is the most rear-resistant in the industry—Milwaukee backs up their claims with a lifetime warranty.Other key features include large numbering, wire form belt clip, architectural scale (see Photo 2—it’s printed on the back of the ruler between the 10 and 22 inch markings), and a finger stop (see Photo 3) for controlling the blade while retracting. I put any new measuring devices I get through an accuracy test before I use them—tape measures must pass for both inside and outside measurements (in case I use the tape in my woodworking shop). This Milwaukee tape was right on the mark. The next concern for me is feel, i.e., how does the tape handle in everyday use? This 25 foot tape has a 1.3” wide blade, and because of its durability, the case is a bit on the bulky side, but it is a 25 foot tape. I couldn’t quite get the advertised 14 foot standout, I only managed about 11 feet (note that I didn’t take any points off for this—in my experience, it seems no tape measure actually gets the advertised standout). The magnet actually comes in handy. I happen to be working in a roughed-in basement when the tape arrived. Photo 4 shows the tape hanging by the magnet from a duct, not particularly useful, but interesting. Photo 5 shows taking a measurement from a duct, with the tape stuck with the magnet. This is a particularly useful scenario. It would also be great for electricians working with EMT. Where most tapes I’ve used in the past have a smooth, metal feel to the blade, the Milwaukee tape feels like it has a friction coating, which makes using the finger stop a breeze. Overall, I think this is a great tape measure for the professional.

Love this tape measure! Fourteen feet standout. It has a magnetic end which makes it easy to pull out. Extra large numbers which make it way to read! The package even states it survives an 80’ drop! Just what I need for all of my projects! I completely recommend!

So here are the things I love about this tape measure: It has a great magnetic end, it goes about 12 feet out or so before it actually “bends” if you are trying to measure something by yourself so I think that’s pretty good, I love that is is easy to hold in your hand (the grooves at the bottom of this tape measure are easily held by your fingers) as well as I love on the bottom (again if you are measuring something by yourself) there is and “opening” where you can place your fingers to hold the actual tape in place where alot of others don’t have this type of feature, great clip for easy placing on your pocket and pan, good weight and easy to read the numbers on the tape measure. My only complaint would be I wish the actual tape was “brighter” but not a deal breaker if I needed to ever buy this again or a second one.

Ive used my Milwaukee 25 ft stud magnetic tape measure for about 10 days now and it works great. I love that i can use it by myself i dont need anyone on the other end holding it.
