I thought because it was a stud that it would have the nylon tape or whatever that material is. Unfortunately it doesn’t. Standard steel tape. And only about 11′ standout.

Previously owned the wide blade version from milwaukee, after wearing that one down decided to go for the stud model which is supposed to last longer, etc. The overall feel of this tape is much better, is retraction is smoother with just the right amount of retracting force. Other tapes I feel are too fast and therefore hurt my fingers more often. Was hoping it would be smaller but it ended up being bigger.

My son needed a new tape and this one made him happy. I think he likes it! LOL

It is a good tape just a bit thick but all around would buy again maybe go for the slim one if you don’t need the standout

Exactly what we needed.

Too bulky for me and no magnetic tip on the end if tape.Other Stud Tape measures have magnetic tip.

Originally bought the “wide” 16′ which is a very nice tape but didn’t stand up to our “abuse” lol. This seems bullet proof. Slightly heavier, but worth it to me. Very smooth and nice features. I would buy again.

It does not have a 14’ or 17’ standout. Maybe 12’ at most. Other than that, having measurements on both sides is really convenient. The only thing I could ask more of, is if it had the auto stop.

Sturdy and well built.Bump guard all around. Wire bail type belt clip attached. There is a lanyard hole on the rear if you need to tether it in use.The tape is +1″ wide x 16′ that I prefer over the 25′ units because of size and weight. The tip is secured by 4 rivets and some reinforcing plastic for the first 6″.The scale is printed on both sides in large font; there is an architectural scale on the back between the 1′-2′ range (1/4 an 1/8 if you happen to have scaled print). I generally never need to extend the tape more than 8′ unsupported and this works just fine. You need to add 3 3/8″ for inside measurements. It is molded into the housing, but I mark in the case with a yellow paint pen just to remind me.Compare them in the store. The cost/length will be higher on the shorter units. They will be smaller and lighter and have fewer problems rewinding.

always liked Milwaukee tapes

Big improvement over the original STUD tapes. I like this a lot. It’s a bit more compact but still a substantial tape. I love the ant-tear coating, and this has a 14 foot standout – impressive for a 16 foot tape. If I’m careful I can get 14 feet 4″ before it snaps. The numbers are easy to read and printed on both sides. There is an architectural scale on the back. I’m not about to test the 80 foot fall claim, but I’m definitely not concerned about tossing this around

Whether building a table or a house there is always a need for reliable measurements. This tape measure gives you that. With increments down to 1/16 of an inch this tape measure gives you accuracy without excessive clutter. 16 foot will make most indoor measurements I would normally need and being over an inch wide makes a sturdy tape that can stand alone for 14 foot, mine started to droop some after 12 foot but still enough to get from one rafter to another quickly and safely. Large easy to read numbers plus readable from the underside as well. If you are doing small projects this maybe too large for that, but for large projects and construction, this is what you are looking for.

The fit and finish of this tape measure far and above exceeds the prior tapes I’ve used. The groove underneath the tape where you can stop and hold with a finger is great. The standout is significantly straighter and stronger than all of the competitors. (I tested them all myself). Best tape I’ve used. 🙂

It’s comfortable in my hand and it’s well built

This has all the makings of a great tape measure. Only have used it for a week. So far so good.

Holds up when extending up to 11’ without someone holding the other end. Nice and tough for constant use in measuring and cutting wood. Good tape measure overall.

This thing is a beast! Like you, we use tape measures all day and every day. Some are solid and some are light. This one is more than solid … it’s 14oz of beast-mode measuring tape. The engineers at Milwaukee have put everything they could think of in this and it shows. The tape is wide, stiff, easy to read and flexible. Archeologists are going to find this in a million years and wonder what kind of artifact it is … but it will still work. If you want great and don’t mind a little extra weight, this is the best of the best.

EXCELLENT TAPE MEASURE! I STOPPED USING MILWAUKEE TAPE MEASURES A FEW YEARS BACK AS THE “TAPE” KEPT BREAKING BUT I’VE BEEN USING THIS ONE FOR A MONTH AND SO FAR THIS IS THE BEST TAPE I’VE EVER OWNED! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

This Tape Measure is a excellent tool. It does what Milwaukee said it will do with no short comings. For construction work it is stamped out for the 16in. and 24in. stud layouts plus vertical measurement to use with your laser level. It is a all in one measuring tool right by your side.
