The Milwaukee 150 ft. Laser Distance Meters are designed to provide the easiest measurements from all orientations and boast an array of features. 2 in. color screens offer maximum visibility in low light conditions. A simplified user interface provides fast navigation so users can quickly choose their function and take a measurement with minimal downtime. A built-in 2-position auto-detecting lever enables you to easily measure in corner while a side shot button offers easier, more ergonomic experience when measuring in all directions. This distance meter also offers several different measurement functions that allow users to add and subtract values and calculate linear distance, surface area, total area and volume. In addition, each tool includes memory storage for 30 readings and impact-resistant overmold for protection from tough jobsite conditions.

A great upgrade to the prior laser measure model. This is very accurate, light weight, and very sturdy. It does all the standard things you’d expect from a laser measure, and it has a few nice features. The first one, and the reason you should consider this model over others, is what Milwaukee calls “side shot”. It’s essentially a 2nd button on the side of the device to take the measurement so you can use it if you have the tool in a position where the regular button is awkward to reach. The second upgrade is a little lever you can flip out to get a contact point in a corner that the tool will automatically adjust for and add on the extra distance to the measurement. It’s small enough that you can easily carry it in a shirt pocket or you can use the enclosed belt sheath. I really like this model over previous measuring tools I’ve used. It comes with two AA batteries as well.

There is only one issue I had, and it’s a common issue – seeing the laser in daylight is difficult especially at greater distances. I tried it toward evening and outdoors, and it was sensational. The accuracy is spot on, and more accurate than a tape laying on the ground, or sagging over a long distance. Most tri-pod mounts are plastic, and Milwaukee screams quality on this with a brass mount. Going the extra mile on the outside, makes me feel good about what is inside. The history storage function is nice especially when taking quick notes in a number of rooms without the need for carrying a note pad. The color screen is another shocker. The more I use any Milwaukee tool, the better and more confident I feel – not only about Milwaukee but myself as well. Accuracy, durability, honestly and quality are good characteristics of tools and people. The better both are, the better you feel about how your day is going. Perhaps the best characteristic of this Milwaukee Laser Distance Meter is the user friendly aspect. If you have to read a book to understand it’ll be frustrating when you need something quick. The size is very nice too, as is the auto shut off feature.
