This bit cuts a nice, clean hole, but the first bit I received had a tendency to bind. The instructions read “To reduce the risk of injury, the bit teeth must be 1/64” to 1/32” higher than the chip lifter. Otherwise the bit may bind and cause serious personal injury.” I tried the bit right out of the box and it bound. I took at apart and placed it on a flat, level surface. There was 0 difference between the bit teeth and the chip lifter. After a few minutes of filing on the chip lifter, 1 was able to lower it to 0.1 mm, but still had a problem with binding. I called Milwaukee customer service, who said the bit was defective and sent a replacement. The second bit powered through the pine with very little binding. It was a little frustrating not getting a good bit initially, but I was very impressed with the second bit.

Used this on several projects and it was great. My wife wanted me to bore holes in an oak limb that was partially green. Worked great on that and like a dream on processed wood. Excellent tool

I used this bit to drill over 120 1 3/8” holes in 3/4” plywood. Last hole went through the wood as easily as the first.

Product delivered a good quality flat bottom hole for less cost than my high end Forstner bits. Did well on soft and medium hardwoods. Have not tried an oak or ash yet.

Works great. Takes quite the bite out of the wood.

Have had no issues like other reviewers. Installed pilot screw with the flat side against the set screw using the 1/8 hex wrench provided. Extension bar uses the same wrench. Bit did slow a little thru some wet lumber, but it powered thru. I have other sizes of these bits all are great. I guess dropping hardened steel onto concrete would cause damage. Would no recomend doing that.

The self feed screw bit has a set screw and can be changed out. It can loosen and fall out. Bit did not drill as fast as my dewalt bit. Cost is high. Online order and pickup was great.

As a plumber I’ve used practically every drill bit and hole cutter made. The 2-9/16” is used for 2” pipe and I use it a lot. Versions of this drill have existed for what seems like 100 years. That’s an exaggeration but it has been the tool to use forever. The problem is that construction methods have changed and I do quite a bit of remodeling. The bit drilled thru 2x lumber almost without effort. Holes were cleanly cut with minimal blowout on the back. I gave this an average rating not because it is poorly made or lacks functionality. The problem is that when I have to drill thru nail embedded lumber it destroys the bit. As much ch as I hated to run a new bit, I drilled thru a 16D galvanized nail. Just 1 nail rounded over the edge of the cutting points and chipped the main cutting surface. I really hoped for an innovation. Now. Just have a new bit that can’t even handle what I bought it for.

This was a replacement for a very, very old Milwaukee bit and we got it based on the quality of the prior one and the length of time (many years) it performed. This one seems to be of equal quality. It is very sharp and will be easy to sharpen when needed. It produced clean cuts right out of the package. The bit comes with allen wrench for installing the feed screw. I hope this one works as well and as long as the old bit.

Have been needing a 2 9/16-inch bit for my right-angle drill for installing PVC drainage pipe rough ins. I was pleasantly surprised how sharp it is. There is just a little bit of assembly inserting the feed screw and set screw with Allen wrench that is included. It goes through 2×4 studs with little pressure needed but do hold on it will grab if you’re not ready. It is very easy to sharpen if needed. I will be buying several other sizes. I would recommend this bit.
