The switchblade is a must for electrical work. The ease of changing the blade after I’ve hit nails is great it extends the life of the bit. Store 1939 had this one on their shelf, now they don’t, now they have a bit that I can’t change the blade in, this isn’t any good for my use I drill too many holes and I need a replaceable blade. Now I have to order it from you on line. I can’t just go in the store and get one off the shelf like I used to. You need to get this bit model 48-25-5120 and the replacement blades back on the shelf!!

I love this tool, started at an angle and it cut, straight on it cut, cleaned up the edge of the hole, made the hole wider where I needed it. Solid and efficient.

Fast drilling and clean holes. Love the self feeding feature, just touch and go. Bored through 26 2x joist and no visible ware.

Cuts through the hole well. Once the bit starts hang on. Only proplem is when the centre auger screw exits the cut you have to push the bit through. This causes exit to splinter and makes it hard to pull the bit back through the hole.

This drill bit was every thing that spects said it was it cut nice clean holes , stayed sharp and the blades are easy to change. If i had one complaint is that they do not carry this bit in the stories and they do not carry the blades for it have to go some else to getvthe blades.

Cuts fast and clean. Pulls through studs for cutting wire runs. Easily attaches to 6” or 12” mated extensions. Best I’ve used. Extra replacement blade included.

Very easy and drills very easily. The best bits for wood. Having used the old style bits these grab and pull through the wood like butter. And if you hit a nail just change the blade.

Used for drilling holes for radiant heat in the joists of a 100 year old house. Mostly rough 2×7 but many were backed up with various lumber. This drill is the best that I have found for this purpose. It is short enough to get in between the joists and pulls itself through using an 18 volt drill on low range. Results were excellent with single joists. The stacked ones required backing out in reverse to clear the clips.I hit one spike that damaged the cutting edge but a quick blade change brought it back to new condition. In short, it works great and is repairable.

This thing pulls itself through the wood and was stable enough that I could use it to enlarge a1/8” smaller existing hole in a 2×4 fire block..

With the replaceable blade you can use this for many years. I drilled pine logs for a railing in my cabin that is 14′ long on each side both top and bottom logs it worked great. Here is a partial picture.
