Received this 3 piece bit set to handle various drilling needs on a renovation. It’s been used to drill holes though solid woods, mdf, plywood, and partial boards and has done a fine job. The pointed tip mades for accurate hole locations and the spades tips on the bit(s) are sharp and cut through the various woods with ease. Bits seem to be made of a high quality steel and did not bend or buckle under pressure. Was shipped fast and well packaged. I like that several sizes come with the package to take the guess work out of if it will be the correct size or not.

I bought these for my husband since he had lost one and bent one from a set he has had for ages and ages. He really likes them. They are sharp and straight as an arrow and he looks forward to having them as part of his arsenal for a long time. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend these to any of our friends in need of a 3 piece spade bit set. Great value!

I really like these bits. I have an old stump in my back yard and needed to drill deep holes to add stuff that makes it rot quicker. I had some older no name brand ones laying around from another project and they went dull really fast. I saw these that had a more intricate pattern and thought I give it a try. They worked like a charm with a hammer drill. I used the 3″ one a lot and it didn’t seem to dull very much but I sharpened it anyway because it said you could. I’m surprised by how inexpensive these are for the level of quality.

These work well for getting into those tight spaces.

Though I preferred these with longer necks, I have changed my mind after using these because they actually work great for drilling holes through sheet rock, which I found out when I remodeled the upstairs bathroom. I added a shower to the tub and needed to drill holes for the shower head, the spout and the valves. These worked perfectly. I also felt less worried about going sideways or bending the neck because it is short and stubby giving it more “torque”. I absolutely love that they are quick connect shafts too. No messing with the chuck or chuck key!

At 1/2″, 3/4″, and 1″ this is a nice set of boring bits. I rated quality as average, since I seem to go through these bits quite often – seems there is always a nail or other metal object that does the bit in. These are the shorter shank bits which I like for working up in the floor joists, since they give you a little more room to work. They are just long enough to cut through a double 2-by. These are notched for quick change, but I tend to always chuck these directly for a tighter grip on the bit.

The high speed wood spade bit set is a really nice set to have on hand. What these bits are supposed to do is drill a nice clean cut whole in your wood project and that is exactly what they do. I found that each bit stayed sharp and held a clean cut after continuous use although they can be sharpened. The range of diameters in these three bits are perfect for most applications. No thrill set but a must have for a woodshop.

I was looking for a set of paddle bits that were shorter in length to get between floor joist for installing water lines where the joists are to close for standard length bits. The design is unique and so far, it seems to clear out the holes being bored out. They are very sharp and have held up over numerous uses. With the 3 sizes 1/2 “, 3/4” and 1” they are nice sizes for my particular needs. Since they are Milwaukee, I trust them. I would recommend these bits.

I don’t do a lot of wood-working so I didn’t need the full range of bit sizes so this small set of the most common sizes was perfect for my purposes. In terms of the bits themselves, they performed how you would expect (which is fine). I doubt that I’ll use them enough to even find out how long they’ll last before they get dull, but I’m happy with them thus far.

I guess if you’re going to bore through something no thicker then 1-1/2 inches they’re going to be alright. They say they’re able to go into some sort of quick release bit. Ok. They do go in but exactly how are they going to stay in the bit to remove them from the bored hole. I’ve used a lot of these to drill holes to rough in electrical wire. Never did I not bump the bit coming back out through the hole. And then there’s those corner and double studs that keep popping up in construction. The bit is too short to make a deep enough bore hole and be able to back it out. Bits are sharp, yes, If they were 8 inches long they’d be much better. Oh well

Very nice spade bits

Easy to use but not very sharp. Had a hard time drilling into pine.

The high speed wood spade bit is one of the basic must haves in any tool chest. These three bits are perfect for many common applications. I use them for running electrical wires and water lines through studs. Their short length makes them handy in tight places. I prefer the spade bits over self boring because I have tweaked my wrist many times when a self boring bit gets stuck. I found that these bits stayed sharp for quite a long time and even as they dull with some added pressure they will work for years.
