I need extensions in multiple lengths. Sometime working drilling between studs, you need it longer but not too long. I ended up buying 6″, 12″ and 24″ ones. The quick release feature is handy as you do not have to worry about finding the right size allen wrench like I do on my older extension.

This short extension is very helpful when used with an 1-1/4″ diameter auger for drilling horizontally through stud with a right angle drill. We use 2 or 3 of these to get straight holes through multiple studs.
