The metal retaining ring inside holds bits very securely, but they are hard to get out, especially while wearing gloves. Sometimes you need pliers. Kind of defeats the point of a quick change bit holder. However, the retaining ring can be removed. Just pry it out with a small slotted screwdriver. With this modification, it is a perfectly good bit holder.

This kit made up of two implements is a valuable investment for the money. Used bother to screw down 2 inch planking with4 inch torque screws. The distribution of power in these compact units is far better than expected. Well worth the investment

This tip holder is better then the ones I have bought in tool stores in the last 35 years. The price is as low as any I have seen and it does the job. Installing cabinets I like how short it is so I can get my impact driver and 2 1/2″ screw behind the face frame without having to go in at a angle. This tip holder is defiantly made for professional use and for anyone who does not wish to change tips easily. It keeps the tip where it is supposed to be. The tip is easy to remove with my wire cutters when it wears out. If someone is looking for a bit holder that the tips come out easily then they should look for one without a LOCKING clip that does what it is supposed to do ( Hold the tip ). Nothing is worse then when your running screws and you have to keep getting your tip out of a screw and put it back. I now have one in each of my 4 impact drivers and a few spares.

I’ve always enjoyed Milwaukee tools…I recently got the combo set of the drill and driver. The magnetic drill bit for the driver was a pain in the butt to change. I’m a 32 year old, DIY, kinda girl but for the life of me I couldn’t pull the drill bit out without pliers. There’s a tiny ring at the top part of the holder that makes it a drag to change the bits. I took that ring out with some pliers and some carefully guided force. The ring shot out like a canon and to this day, I don’t know where it flew to. So…wear safety glasses or that ring can end up in your eye. #safetyfirst

Needed a magnetic bit holder because my last non-impact rated one broke (B*sch). This works well and looks/feels very strong.I would recommend anyone looking should buy Milwaukee bits in general.

I bought this set on sale, which is how I recommend anyone buy their bits. It contains a reasonable number of commonly used sizes in sturdy cases that can be reused. One knock is the bits themselves are difficult to remove without pliers, particularly the shorter ones.A suggestion: If home depot is going to combine reviews for multiple items in one listing they should allow you to filter by the item type. It allows one to get honest reviews for the item they are looking to buy.

Just bought my first impact driver and I’m in love. Milwaukee killed it. I also bought a bit kit with it and the first thing I do is try out the extension and it gets stuck….. with quality products, comes right tolerances. Some may argue they’re too tight, but I’d say they still did well. FREEZE THE ASSEMBLY. Put that extension and bit on ice for literally 5 minutes, and the bit comes right out. Well done Milwaukee!

I am unable to change bits. I inserted a Robertson #1 bit and no matter how I try, I cannot remove the bit. There are no instructions on the package nor on the Milwaukee web site. Neither are there any details to advise the user how the bit holder should be employed.
