The MILWAUKEE® SHOCKWAVE™ 6″ Impact Magnetic Drive Guides are engineered for extreme durability and up to 30x life. The magnetic drive guides feature optimized Shockzones™ that absorb peak torque and prevent them from breaking. Each Custom Alloy76 Steel drive guide has a stainless steel sleeve that slides over the fastener for improved stability. The drive guide barrels have laser etched depth gauges for increased fastener control. The Milwaukee magnetic drive guide holds fasteners to the guide with a C-ring to retain the insert bit for maximum efficiency.

Count on the Milwaukee brand to be innovative with their designs and durable with their materials selections. This drive guide has a stainless steel sleeve for durability, a very nice strong c-clip that grips your 1″ drive bits and magnets to hold the fasteners in the drive guide in place from just about any angle. What’s really unique are the measurements laser etched on the barrel of the drive guide letting you see the depth of the hardware. What a great concept! On other drive guides I’m always pulling the sleeve back wondering how long until the screw is flush with the surface. Stop. Start. Stop Start. This drive guide gives you a much better educated guess making it more efficient. I’ve used it to mount french cleats, assembly wooden shutters, remove cabinet doors and hardware, build a pre-fab wardrobe,.. come to think of it,.. I’ve used it non-stop now for 3 weeks and it’s staying in my drill. Love it!

Milwaukee’s 6” bit holder does a great job of securely holding drive bits. It has a c-ring in the tip that grabs onto the bit. The bit holder is also magnetized and so it can hold the fastener. This worked best when using a standard 1” drive bit. The scale on the bit holder lets you control the depth of the screw (see Photo 1). Note the zero mark on the fixed part of the holder. Photo 2 shows the arrow on the sleeve just past the zero mark. You can see that the 1” Phillips tip in the holder just protrudes past the sleeve. This indicates that the screw is flush with the surface. Of course, this may vary with the type of screw you’re using. Overall, the bit holder is well made and does its intended job. It‘s great when you need the extra reach.

This little sucker is a winner. So simple and strong. It doesn’t help guide you or hold long screws steady for you, it is just an impact bit holder. But, at 9″ it is the perfect length for the new Fuel impact, and many other impacts and drills. Magnet is so strong it is hard to remove bits, which I love. I can’t stand weak holders… I hate leaving bits behind in screws. This won’t happen with this unless you bind one up good or use the wrong size bit.If you work in construction buy a few, because they will wander off…

This is a very nice drive guide! Most uses will be for drywall screws, but I also recently used mine for furniture woodworking. The sleeve works well both to gage the depth if you are not going all the way in, and to help retain the screw while initially aligning the screw and driver. In my case, I used a brass screw on furniture: brass is not magnetic, but this guide STILL held it, aligned it, reduced torque stress and helped me stop at the correct depth. Some may say these are longer than they need to be, and while it would be nice if it were shorter, there are 2 upsides: the length improves visibility of your work, and it is the length that gives you the torque dampening, keeping the bit from stripping the screw slot.

Very heavy duty well manufactured bit accessory. The drive guide inserts into quick load drills and has a magnetic bit holder at the other end that perfectly fits bits without allowing them to spin at all. It has held up well and despite undergoing high levels of torque I have not had any bits become lodged in the guide like I have with others. The guide can slide over fasteners (unless they have large heads) to hold them in place hands free and also has etched measure marks to determine depth while the fastener is hidden. Very useful tool.
