Milwaukee SHOCKWAVE Torx #30 3.5 in. Impact Duty Steel Screwdriver Bit (5-Pack) review: Another outstanding Milwaukee product! I usually use a magnetic bit extender and change bits in the head of the extender. This is my first time to use a Torx solid bit on a long shaft without the need of a magnetic bit extender. While this does eliminate the advantage of a magnetic ‘sticky’ it is quick and fast and handles the demands of an impact driver. This would probably be just the ticket for putting down Torx deck screws! I used it and am quite pleased with it. The bits do seem to last an extremely long time! The size of the bit is labeled very clearly so it is easy to pick out in a toolbox container. Very glad to have this additional, useful and powerful tool! There ya go!

I’m really happy with these Torx bits. I use GRK style construction screws almost exclusively now (they’re really are superior to standard deck screws in every way) and the GRKs include a bit with every box of screws… but it’s a pretty cheap bit that strips out long before the screws run out. I’ve used this Milwaukee bit on over two boxes in a row now and it doesn’t show any wear and tear. I also appreciate the long length, it has enough reach to get into most spaces without being in the way. The shank fits in all my quick release tools without a fight and pops out on command. All around a well built bit.

My T30 needs are multiple. Wether hanging, securing or protecting the screw has its purpose. Short or long they get all the way in. But these long drivers makes all fits fit in.

These Milwaukee Torx bits a built tough, when you pick one up in your hand you can feel they are substantially built to last. I examined the tips and they are flawless and machined perfectly. They are designed to fit as deeply as possible into the torx screw with no play or wiggle.The will fit any 1/4 inch hex chuck and work with and are designed for quick connect, locking collar chucks too. The long 3 1/2 inch length comes in handy where you need a longer reach. They are built strong to handle the torque generated by power drill and drivers so no worries there. 5 of these will last a very long time.

I do both woodworking and some machine repair. I do use torx screws to replace deck boards. Some machine bolts and auto body parts that I work with use torx. My problems come from the high turnover of bits that are not high impact shockwave. The problem is not noticeable in softer woods; the wood will give slightly as the fastener hits home. Metal on metal and other hard materials is a different story. If there is no give the torque of the tool will cause the bit to skip or dent so that deformation makes it not good to use. These bits by Milwaukee are designed to absorb the torque as the fastener hits home. The result is a bit that lasts longer. As I try not to have 2 sets of bits (one for wood and one for metal), I use the shockwave. I am really pleased with the torque from both drills and drivers from Milwaukee. Milwaukee has come out with some very nice tools and supplies.

Excellent long lasting tough bits. Whether building a new work bench for someone or doing new or repair work on a deck, these extended Torx bits can hold up to the heavy duty of driving screws all day long. The head won’t wear out like other brands often do and are just as tight at the end of the day as they were hours earlier. And with the 5-pack, I can keep one in my the box for my drill and one with my nut driver. Heavy duty, long lasting, and a very good investment.
