The MILWAUKEE SHOCKWAVE 2″ Impact Duty Square #1 Steel Power Bits are engineered to be the Most Durable, Best Fitting driver bits on the market. The Wear Guard Tip delivers increased wear resistance which protects the fit over the life of the bit. The Shockzone is optimized for for each tip type and length of driver bit to absorb peak torque and prevent breaking. The Custom Alloy76 has a customized steel and heat treatment per tip type to extend the life of the driver bits, providing up to 50X life vs. competitive impact driver bits. SHOCKWAVE driver bits are built to deliver extreme durability for the most demanding applications.
- Wear Guard Tip™ protects fit over the life of the bit
- Custom Alloy76™ Steel is engineered to extend bit life
- Up to 50X life vs other impact bits
- Shockzones™ are optimized in both length and width per tip type for best performance across tip types.
- Precise Fit Custom Machined Tip prevents stripping and reduces wobble.
- Laser hardening at the tip creates an outer protective shield for improved wear resistance.
- Customized geometry and heat treatment per tip type for best performance across tip types

I always imagine the first drill driver was invented soon after the first drill was invented when a guy cut the handle off a screwdriver, put the shaft in the chuck, and then him and his buddies declared him a genius. These drill/driver bits are made by Milwaukee tools, a company I’ve come to associate with quality. You get five in the pack, a good idea as these things somehow seem to grow legs. They often find their way onto my nightstand. A few years ago I started to notice these with a skinny shank. They work just as well as the old style “fat” bits. Milwaukee tools claims they have a “wear guard tip”. I could see the quality of the steel and the way it was worked effecting the useful life of the bit. Not too hard, but hard enough. They also advertise their skinny shaft as a kind of “torque-tamer”. If true a benefit in the prolonged useful life of this bit. Sounds like a win/win;wear guard tip and shockzone shaft. I have a camping trailer and it is loaded with these square drive screws. I’ll get a lot of use out of these.

Milwaukee is currently making the best quality bits. The design allows access in tight areas and the torsion shaft absorbs shock which ensures more exact torque, less snapped screw heads, and longer bit wear.

The bits were not as durable as excepted.

Milwaukee always have the best stuff hands down!

I really have nothing to say about them. Works perfectly.

I remember back in the early 1960’s buying a mobile home and every screw in the thing had a “butterfly” head on it. I little figure eight thing. I went out and bought a set of butterfly screwdrivers, three as I recall, so I could work on the thing. After a few years I sold the mobile home, and I’ve never seen another butterfly screw head since. The first time I saw one of these screws for a square driver I thought it was another butterfly fad. But then I started seeing more similar screws and when I hung a bunch cement board and the screws took SQ2 drivers. So guess we are stuck with these for a while.I like Milwaukee tools in general; I’ve never had a problem with them. I’m also partial to “Made in America” so when saw that these were “Professionally Made in China for Milwaukee Tool” I was a little disappointed, but on the other hand, it also says they are impact duty with a “custom alloy 76 steel wear guard tip.”I haven’t run into too many screws for a SQ1 driver, but by virtue of its small size it looks pretty frail and like it would be easy to strip or break completely. I haven’t tried one of theseI’ve only used one of these Milwaukee Shockwave Impact Duty driver bits yet but I have had really good luck with the PH1, PH2 and PH3 Philips bits; they seem to be unbreakable. First of all they fit the screw snugly with no play, and second they have this impact duty wear guard tip which ostensibly keeps them fitting that way and so does these SQ1 bits. These drivers seem to be a much higher quality and better made than the bits you typically get in bit sets (don’t know if Milwaukee sells these in sets) or at least the sets I’ve tried. You know the sets with all types, styles and sizes of driver bits.

Milwaukee SHOCKWAVE #1 2 in. Impact Duty Square Steel Power Bit (5-Pack) review: Oh yeah, another great Milwaukee product. I have been using my GEN3 Milwaukee Impact Driver more and more and this accessory just works in real nice. I like the Robertson (square) screws (not as much as Torx though) and Milwaukee has a very useful set of bits here. They take a beating and show no wear. I impacted some screws into pressure treated pine and some redwood with this screw bit and it performed flawlessly. No breaks, no wear, just results. Gotta love Milwaukee! There ya go!

Another great product from the people at Milwaukee. These bits are heavy duty with the wear guard tip and the shockzone to absorb pressure and torque. I recently used these to rebuild my cedar deck. All the old boards were put in at different times over the years and having a good selection of these bits made it much easier to remove the different screws that were used. These bits stood up to the torque used to install the new 2×6 boards into pressure treated joists. These bits are a must have for any tool bag/box.
