About time this came out. I have several tools in my “toy” shop now I can finally get rid of all these single chargers

Not worth the money the charger cost it’s not that much faster.

Battery- powered tools have come a long way, and with the advent of lithium- ion batteries tool running time has increased too. Eventually, though a battery will always need charging, always at the wrong time. Then it was, wait, wait, wait. The Milwaukee dual- bay, 18 volt, “Rapid” charger fills that need. The specs state it will charge two XC5.0 3 times faster than a typical charger, time is money. It apparently does this by use of an onboard, circuit board and a cooling fan. The other nice feature, this is wall mountable. No more excuses for not having a charged battery when you need it.

Milwaukee makes some FABULOUS M18 tools and the batteries that run them hold a charge for a remarkably long time, but as with ALL batteries, sooner or later you’ll need to recharge them. That task isn’t even an inconvenience with this DUAL Charger (No batteries included, just an FYI). If you’re running multiple tools in your home shop as I do, you always want the next battery you need to be fully charged and ready to go. You can have multiple chargers running all over the workshop or you can have this little wonder that charges TWO batteries simultaneously! It’s the ultimate in convenience and practicallity in the battery operated tool age. I always have a COUPLE batteries ready to go come project time! And while we’re on this subject, Milwaukee makes some simply GREAT battery operated tools under their M18 (18 Volt) platform. I have MANY of their tools and love them all! And with this dual charger, using them all is even easier!

Insane the difference it makes compared to a standard charger.

The past weekend my son and I started on a good size job to finish the interior of his large three car garage with an add on work shop. The interior was just furred in and needed drywall , paneling and a ceiling and we really needed to get it done on a Saturday / Sunday weekend. Our main concern was just how well our electric screwdriver /drill would hold up and could we keep the batteries charged to keep going.. After an hour or so we needed to start rotating batteries and through out the day our new duel battery rapid charger actually out preformed us and was amazing as to how rapidly it could charge 2 batteries at the same time. This is a great rapid duel 18 Volt charger.

I have three Milwaukee products plus two extra batteries=five batteries and three chargers. Batteries are not much use without a charger. Swapping them in and out is doable but now with this dual charger, I am covered. The single chargers work well but it is convenient to have the double. My son takes my tools, uses them, and never puts the battery on the charger. So now I have a backup and I am not swapping batteries from tool to tool. Nice! Rather than carry around three separate chargers, I have this dual one. This saves you an outlet. Also, it seems to charge the batteries faster than the single charger. If you are on the job, you know how important it is to have charged batteries ready. If you are on the job, it is nice to carry multiple tools and just one (dual) battery charger. It beats carrying two chargers with a power strip. All battery chargers are able to be wall-mounted.For the occasional Milwaukee tool user, this is a convenience. For a pro, this is a necessity. Anyone who has looked at the typical charger that does an M18 battery and an M12 must have thought it would have been nice to have a dual charger on the wall or job, instead of two or three single chargers. The cost is typical for such a product, there is a five-year warranty, and it chargers faster than the single charger. This is a great product. I recommend it with the point made that I think it should have come with at least a single if not double USB port(s) in the back of it. That way, no one is fighting for a plug to charge a phone or tablet or other device.

If you own any Milwaukee 18 volt batteries and use your tools all the time then you need this dual charger. I have a rapid charger that charges my 18V and 12V batteries that puts the standard chargers to shame and this 18V volt dual charger doesn’t disappoint either. I have a few larger capacity Milwaukee 18V batteries that can take longer to charge with a standard charger but this dual 18V charger can charge them in half the time because it also uses a internal fan that cools the system while they are charging plus internal components that create more amperage. The charger can be mounted to a wall or peg board to save space.

Definitely a ‘must have’ item for a busy DIY. Whether building something for yourself, a family member, or a neighbor, you need a lot of power for large projects. Especially, when using two or more M-18 tools. Some projects require use of my Milwaukee circular saw, drill and nut driver and when you need a recharge, you need it in a hurry. Even though I do have a couple spare batteries, I can throw the low charges on the dual recharger and know I’ll have power ready to go when the others begin to slow down. And this charger works fast! Great charger for anyone using their M-18 tools hard.

MILWAUKEE M18 18-VOLT LITHIUM-ION DUAL BAY RAPID BATTERY CHARGER, is a really fast battery charger ! This charger is a RAPID charger, and even has a cooling fan when charging batteries. Has a really long cord (6 FT.), and also you can hang this one on your wall in your garage or workshop. Has plenty of vents built into the charger to get good air flow so not to overheat. And you can charge 2 batteries at one time, that’s what I really like about this charger. Great Job Milwaukee !!

Worked as advertised, as this charged both batteries that I put on the charger simultaneously. This charger only charges M18 batteries, not M12’s. I used this to charge a 12.0 ah battery and a 5.0ah battery. The 5.0ah was fully charged in about an hr, and the 12.0 battery was fully charged after a little man than 2hrs. I drained both batteries completely for this test. On the underside of the charger there is a measurement of the distance between each mounting hole

I’ve seen the single rapid charger which can be a real problem when multiple people have one. This is not only cheaper than buying 2 single rapid chargers but spacing saving too.

Milwaukee 48-59-1808 M18 / M12 Rapid Battery Charger – This is the newest generation of the M18 / M12 combination battery charger…According to Milwaukee Tools this battery charger charges battery packs 40% faster than the previous version, which was proven during my test…This battery charger also indicates when the battery pack has reached an 80% charge, allowing the user to resume work without waiting for a full charge…I replaced the original M18 / M12 battery charger in a M18 hammer / driver drill, M18 ¼” hex impact driver combination kit with this battery charger…The battery charger performed as indicated, intended and expected without any problems…

I will begin by saying that the Milwaukee Engineers must lay awake at night dreaming up a new device/tool to make life easier for all of their customers from the DIY person to the professional that depends on their tools to pay the bills. This Milwaukee M 18 18 volt Lithium Ion Dual Bay Rapid Charger will simultaneously charge two Lithium batteries at the same time while doing it over 3x faster than standard sequential chargers. Equipped with REDLINK intelligence this battery charger communicates directly with all M 18 batteries to monitor cell voltage, temperature and charge status to deliver the best combination of charge duration and battery lifespan.

Works great! It’s faster than the charger that came with my drill and allows two batteries to charge at once.

The Milwaukee M18 18-volt lithium-ion dual bay rapid battery charger works well. It has good space between the batteries making the insertion and removal easy when both bays are occupied. It also has a cooling fan that is activated during charging to manage heat that can be generated by the process. Once charging is complete the fan automatically turns off. The visual feedback is fairly self explanatory and is also indicated on a chart on the charger body. As is indicated by its name it charges rapidly and depends on how depleted the battery is when placed on the unit as to the length required. My experience was a fully discharged battery took about and hour to fully charge.
