Get a vehicle charger that allows you to charge your car’s battery on the go, but also has an auto-shut off that stops to prevent excessive discharge of the vehicle battery. The M18 and M12 Vehicle Charger allows users to charge battery packs on the go from the DC Outlet of any vehicle. It features REDLINK Intelligence that communicates directly with the battery to monitor cell voltage, temperature and charge status. This optimizes the performance and extends the life of the pack. The charger provides full system compatibility and accepts all M18 and M12 batteries.
- Vehicle charging – plugs into vehicle 12-Volt or 24-Volt DC outlet
- Charges all M18 and M12 batteries – full system compatibility
- Protective electronics – automatically shuts down charger to prevent excessive discharge of vehicle battery
- 12-Volt/24-Volt input voltage
- Sequential charging – reduces time to manage charge cycles by automatically charging the second inserted pack once the first pack is fully charged
- Charge management – charger communicates with the battery pack to ensure a full charge and battery protection
- 76 in. cord length

This is a solid product and would recommend it. My main use for this is charging batteries from a 12 volt solar system. If you want to live off grid or just geek out on solar (that’s me) this is the way to charge your batteries. I have 120 volt chargers and they work well, however, the 12 volt charger uses way less power to get a full charge on a battery. The 12 dc volt charger provides about the same charging capacity as the regular 120 ac volt charger. To do a comparison my 120 volt regular charger uses 2.1 amps at 120 Volts or ~250 watts. The 12 volt charger uses 7 amps at 12 volts or ~84 watts. That is ~65% less power to do the same job. If you have an inverter in the mix figure on wasting an other 100 watts of power. Not having to step down the voltage, convert ac to dc saves power. The point is this charger uses way less (~65%) power to charge your battery, that is why it works well as a back-up in your truck as well. Just plug it into the cigarette plug. If you where to run a 120 charger from your truck with an inverter you would be drawing ~350 watts with a regular charger ~425 watts with a fast charger you would most likely blow a fuse on your cigarette plug. With the 12 volt charger you can charge a battery without needing to have the engine running or connect an inverter directly to the car battery.

Perfect charger for 40F thru 100F. Do not try to charge Milwaukee batteries if batteries are cold.

Finally! This takes convenience to a new level. When at a jobsite, where electricity is not always hooked up or convenient to use, I no longer have to worry as this can charge from my cigarette lighter in my truck while I am working. So I was wondering how this compared to a regular 120v charger, as most people probably would. There generally is a huge difference in the charging capabilities – look at a phone charger. I was surprised that this charged as well as my 120v charger. I charged a 2ah battery from one bar to full in the same time as I charged another one on my 120v charger. They were both brand new batteries, and it was the first time they were charged out of the box. I also did not notice a significant draw on the battery of my truck. I have a two batteries in my diesel truck, and it did not seem to drop the charge at all after charging a battery.Quality. I am pleased with this charger. I just added a huge plus to my Milwaukee collection.

This charger works BETTER than expected. It has a good long power cord that reaches behind the passenger seat of my Ford Transit 350 making it accessible from the side door. Love it!

Very convenient to charge batteries while you drive but allow for adequate ventilation and cooling of the unit as it tends to overheat and shutdown temporarily. I aim the vehicle air conditioning vent directly at these Milwaukee and DeWalt 12 volt chargers to good effect and they will charge fully with no stoppage

Why only three stars? Only one reason and that is the price. The charger works as it should and HD shipped it quickly. It is not a rapid charger. I just think it’s overpriced.

Works great with my solar panel and AGM battery. Of course it would also work to use a 120V inverter and connect the standard M12/M18 charger to it, but that’s just so wasteful and lame. If what you have is 12V DC you should have a charger that’s powered directly from 12V DC. Simple and efficient. The charger itself is built well, with connections that stood up to alkaline desert dust for a week and seem no worse for the wear.
