The Milwaukee Thunderbolt Titanium coated Drill Bit Set (29-Piece) offers convenience and heavy-duty performance on the jobsite. Milwaukee Thunderbolt Titanium coated drill bits are designed for extreme durability and up to 3X longer life. The Thunderbolt web features a thicker core than a standard drill bit to provide ultimate strength and protect against side-load breakage. The titanium coating reduces heat build-up and keeps the bit sharp to extend performance. A specially designed parabolic flute form clears chips and debris fast to keep the bit cool. The 135 degree split point tip delivers a precision start and prevents walking for fast, accurate holes. Effective for drilling on curved surfaces, Milwaukee Thunderbolt Titanium Coated bits require less effort to drill through wood, metal and PVC, and are highly recommended for use with portable drills. The set comes in a resilient case and includes bit sizes 1/16 in, 5/64 in, 3/32 in, 7/64 in, 1/8 in, 9/64 in, 5/32 in, 11/64 in, 3/16 in, 13/64 in, 7/32 in, 15/64 in, 1/4 in, 17/64 in, 9/32 in, 19/64 in, 5/16 in, 21/64 in, 11/32 in, 23/64 in, 3/8 in, 25/64 in, 13/32 in, 27/64 in, 7/16 in, 29/64 in, 15/32 in, 31/64 in, and 1/2 in.
- Longer life: Titanium coating reduces heat build-up for up to 3X longer life
- Extreme durability: thicker web provides greater strength
- Fast, accurate drilling: 135 degree split point tip starts on contact to prevent walking, while the parabolic flute clears chips fast

At this point I’ve only used the drills a few times but have noticed that they drill faster and more cleanly than regular drill bits. I also like that some of the most-used drill bits are duplicated so if they break in the middle of a project I won’t have to stop and hunt down or buy a replacement.

The set contains 29 titanium drill bits ranging in size from 1/16” to ½”. Each of the drills is sharpened to 135 degs split point to prevent the drill from walking across the material being drilled. The thicker core of the drills resists them from breaking. The shafts of the drills have flattened areas to prevent the bit from slipping in the chuck. The handy carrying case is very convenient and can be used with all ¼”- 20 accessories that attached to the case (magnet or belt clip) for convenient storage and/or handling. This is another Milwaukee tool that has been made to high quality standards.

This is the second set of Milwaukee Titanium bits that I have owned. After years of service my first set had many broken or dulled bits so it was time for a new set. I found these on sale through the Home Depots Special Buy of the Day email which was perfect timing so I jumped on it. I wished this set were the Shockwave Impact Duty chuck style but nonetheless, this is a great set and I am very happy with it

Wow! This Milwaukee Thunderbolt Titanium coated bit set is the best set I’ve owned. Durable case and price tag aside, the bits are certainly durable. Perhaps it’s the coating, thicker core, or parabolic flute, but I used one of the bits all afternoon (in hardwood) and it’s still sharp and going strong. These are titanium coated after all. The bits still get hot, but Milwaukee claims they don’t get as hot. The tips are “split tip” and help start an accurate hole without walking. This 29 piece set has more sizes than others I’ve purchased and given the price, I’m hoping they last 3x longer as they claim. So far so good.

sharpest bits I’ve ever owned. I only wish I’d ordered several sets when they were on sale.

Excellent bits that will handle wood and light metal, however I now wish I hadn’t been so tight and gone with the Cobalt ones.(more than double the cost) If you are drilling almost entirely in wood or Aluminum , excellent product. The hard plastic case is also very good and much better than the metal ones.

A really nice drill bit set. great range of sizes. As a homeowner DIY I can use this for metal and wood. I have a contractor at the home this week installing metal railings and he loved the set. He only uses the Milwaukee brand and I can see why. the case if well built. Should last a very long time. It is compact so fits in the tool box or bucket easily. As another review stated I almost cut myself pulling a bit out the first time. Now I keep a small piece of cloth in the box. I would rather have the bits fit in tight than fall out unexpectedly so not a big deal. This is a must for any homeowner as it contains the entire range of typical drill bits needed to repair and build around the house.

I got the chance to try these out right away on a deck project and they did not disappoint me. As you would expect they are superior to black oxide drill bits and keep their edge well. I was drilling mostly wood which almost any bit can handle so I decided to try these out on some metal brackets I was installing for supports. I was drilling holes in angle iron and it was cutting through it like butter. I do use cutting oil on my bits and it does make a difference. Even so, I was getting nice round holes with no jamming of the bit or ovaling. The storage case is durable as well, the lock secures firmly and won’t pop open unexpectedly. Good bits are not cheap but you get what you pay for, these are worth the cost over the cheap sets and will save time on the job.

Bottom line, they last longer, especially if you drill through metal. The case is great. Compact and bits are clearly size marked and easy to get out and put back in, unlike other bits sets I’ve used. I drilled through 1/4 inch steel on my tractor mower to install a 2″ tow ball and was pleasantly surprised how quickly the largest bit in the case drilled the hole using my old 18 volt drill.

Good quality, stay relatively sharp for multiple drills. Overall happy with them.

I’m sure these are great for wood and PVC but not metal harder than aluminum. They don’t stand much of a chance against steel, so don’t waste your money if that’s what you need it for. I’m a mechanic and got the set because it had a specific size I needed, and I just needed bits in general. I assumed that the price tag meant that I was getting good bits. I was disappointed. Another thing that irks me about this kit is how hard it is to pull them out of their slots. Put that together with really sharp edges on new bits (the shanks stay sharp because they never see any action) and you get cut fingers really easily. I’d say pull them all out with pliers when you first get them and then oil the slots to give yourself a fighting chance. If you usually are drilling hard steel like I am, get something harder like cobalt or carbide. Lesson learned.

If you’re like me, several of the bits in your set are used most often. This set replaced a set of titanium coated bits from a common discount tool place and to be honest, I’m not sure if they’re any better. I thought I would notice a bigger difference between my well used bits and these new Milwaukee bits but I didn’t. I was looking for faster hole starts and faster penetration through wood but was a little disappointed. The other reviews mentioned improved performance in metal – perhaps that’s where these bits shine. Milwaukee makes a similar set but with a hex base – I’m assuming for use in also in an impact driver. In hind sight, I should have spent the extra money and gotten those.
