The MILWAUKEE RED HELIX Cobalt 7/16 in. Drill Bit are engineered for extreme durability and longer life in hard metal applications. The Milwaukee Cobalt drill bits are designed with a VARIABLE HELIX that includes an aggressive 35° Helix Angle which ends at 15°. The drill bits have QUADEDGE TIP to decrease heat buildup and drill faster. The 135° split point tip delivers a precision start and prevents walking for fast, accurate holes in Hard Metal, PVC and wood. The tapered drill bits feature a new ENHANCED TAPERED WEB that strengthens the bit’s core to increase flute durability. The cobalt twist drill bits are ideal for tough applications, providing up to 15X life vs. Black Oxide Drill Bits.
- Cobalt alloy for up to 15x life vs. black oxide drill bits
- QUADEDGE TIP designed to decrease heat build up and drill faster
- ENHANCED TAPERED WEB strengthens the bits core
- VARIABLE HELIX Design for rapid material extraction
- 135° split point for precision start no walking
- 3-Flat Secure-Grip helps keep the bit fixed within the the chuck
- Designed for hard metals, PVC and wood

Worked well drilling on cast iron and metal.

Strong drill bit. Works great on metal and last a long time.

Throw this in a drill press and it cuts through steel like it’s aluminium. Does well with a cordless drill as well. Doesn’t wander much. So far has lasted way longer than a normal junk carbide or titanium coated bit. For metal drilling I’m going cobalt from now on, the price is worth it.

Excellent drill bit for hard metal!

Best drill bit I have ever bought!

bit works great slow speed, we drill 15-20 sheets of steel roofing at a time 20 holes each sheet. lots of drilled feet by the end of the day. not the best bits in the world but will certainly work great if you know how to take care of them during use.

Drilled 6 spot welds successfully while other drill bits broke or dulled quite quickly.

Used it to drill holes through 4 corners of metal rail section. Worked well. No problems.

Its an odd size but needed it for my application. Cobalt bit should last for a long time

The best type of drill bit I use to work on stainless steel, the only bad point about them is that they are very fragile and break at the first mistake made during a manual drilling operation, but using correctly , they are the best!

Great price and good bit!

These are the best bits I have ever used. They last through many uses on heavy steel. (I recommend going slow, and putting a drop of oil on the tip every 30-60 seconds.) I used this bit to drill 10 holes thru 1/4” steel, then thru a bunch of rivets, and it is still sharp!

the drill bit is a little expensive but it performs very well

I bought this to drill through a metal plate that I could not see inside a brick wall. It did not go through. I tried it on some scrape metal and it went through clean and fast so not sure why. The other issue was I bought a Milwaukee bit extender to reach through the wall and this bit would not in fit the 1/4 inch holder.

Great drill. A little proces but it went through 3/16″ mild steel like butter without having to drill a bunch of sequentially larger pilot holes.

This bit worked fine for my steel drilling.

Good drill bit. Exactly as expected.

They are really hard steel to work on hard to bore metals. Good stuff

It served its purpose.
