I bought this set strictly for wood, and they’ve been great. Haven’t had to sharpen them yet and I’ve used them in hard and dense woods such as cocobolo and bubinga.I can’t speak to their ability in plastic or metal, but I bought the Rigid Cobalt set specifically for that, something I highly recommend, keeping a separate wood and separate metal drill set.

When you catch it on sale these are an awesome set of bits for what you get. 1st off as far as I’m concerned the case is amazing. It is the same style of case that milwaukie puts their screwdriver bits and assortments in only bigger. As far as the actual bits go all of them that I have used so far are extremely sharp. They are coated with some type of rust preventer I’m guessing. You can feel it a little bit on the bits when they are fresh and they are all a bit stuck in their holes at first. They should last a long time for general drilling if you know how to use drill bits and take care of them. Since these are black oxide bits and not cobalt ore tin coated or anything like that don’t expect to be blowing through stainless all day that’s not what these are for.
