Black Oxide Step Drill Bit It does the trick!I needed a step drill bit to cut into a plastic can to put a breather plug in and a step drill bit was recommended to me by the manufacturer of the breather plug. I went to my local Home Depot after shopping online through their web-site, and found the item exactly where they said it would be.This step drill bit #1 covers 13 sizes from 1/8″ to 1/2″. The bit covers 1/8, 5/32, 3/16, 7/32, 1/4, 9/32, 5/16, 11/32, 3/8, 13/32, 7/16, 15/32, and 1/2″ holes. The bit is optimized for cordless high speed drills. The bit is rated for steel and plastic/PVC. The bit is rated 2x faster with its rapid strike tip, and also up to 4x lifespan as other step drill bits.The bit is made in the USA out of global materials.The bit really did the job. WOW! Used it to drill countersink holes to install pulls on kitchen cabinet drawers. The graduations are identified. After drilling a pilot hole and marking the correct depth with a white marker, this device drilled through wood like butter.
