I bought this bit to drill a 3/4″ through my sink so I can install an ion faucet. It was my first time doing this and i was thrilled at the ease with which the bit drilled through the sink in less than 5 minutes. Bit looks brand new after use and kept should i need it again. Great purchase.

Drilled two holes in red iron steel and that was it. Stopped cutting on the third hole. Overheated? Also had to keep tightening the chuck on my drill, a problem I never had in ordinary round or hex shank bits.For the price, I’ll just buy 3 cheaper step bits and see if they burn up too.

At first I was unsure about buying this bit as it was somewhat expensive, however after a few holes I was pleased by its performance. I have cut aluminum and even 1/8 inch brass. The double flute keeps the bit centred.
