I was well pleased with the performance of the step bits overall . The larger of the two got dull about half way up forcing me to use the smaller to expand the pilot hole past that size but other than that , they work great . I’ve drilled about 20 5/8 holes in 1/2 steel so far with them and they are still cutting .

A good replacement for regular coated bits. Seem to work great and don’t fight back near the bottom of steel plate. Haven’t used them extensively yet, but they definitely meet expectations of Milwaukee specs.

I needed to make 5/8” hole on 2” square tubing with 1/8” wall. Instead of buying an individual bit dir $20, i thiught thr stepping bit would add a variety of options for certain tasks. I was initially apprehensive about this bits ability to cut well using a hand drill. Thiugh i have only made 10 holes so far, i am extremely impressed with the speed, quality, and control of the cut. Highly recommend for 1/8” material and thinner.
