These are very good quality bits with good measurement numbers on the bits themselves. The measurement increments are easy to read and do a fine job of creating holes that can be of nearly any size you prefer, from relatively small to relatively large. They work well in my drill and the storage case is nicely designed to be used to contain the bits.

Previous review claims bits don’t last. However, if you use them without the impact action they work fine. So if you want to get the most mileage out of any kind of step bit, chuck them up in a drill motor without impact action and they last much longer. I’ve experienced this issue with the Lenox that are considered the premium bit. Same result, if you impact them they don’t last. FYI, I used insty bit adapters on the Lenox since 1/4 hex was hard to find.

The Titanium Shockwave Impact Duty Step Bit Kit is all you need to drill 3/16“ through 1“ diameter holes in light sheet metal. These bits are perfect for drilling up to 1” holes in instrument or control panels. I like the hex shank in the impact driver because it eliminates the bit from twisting in a drill chuck that you thought was tight. These bits eliminate the drill bit grabbing the sheet metal as the drill begins to penetrate though the metal. For example, the 1” Step Bit there are 14 intermediate steps as the bit progresses through the sheet metal to the final 1” size. The Titanium Aluminum Nitride coating should keep the step bit sharp for years under normal use. The laser engraving for size identification is hard somewhat to read for my “old” eyes but that normal for me. The case for these bits is first class, holding all 3 bits securely on the way to the job site. A bit pricey but I would recommend this kit to a friend.

This bit set is a bit expensive, but it is really well built and should last a lifetime. I used this bit set to drill some holes in my aluminum boat. It cut through the metal with ease. After I reached the diameter hole I wanted I gave a light push on the bit and it left a smooth chamfer on the hole, what a great bonus a chamfering tool too! The included case holds the bits securely so they wont bounce around your toolbox and get damaged.

I always have one of these bits in my toolbag so I was happy to recieve these shiny new shock proof bits in the mail. These bits serve many purposes for me. I use the smaller one as a pilot bit on many occasions and the bigger one for drilling recess holes if I can’t find my recess bit. For electricians they are handy for drilling holes in boxes for wire nuts. This is an item I always keep in my go to bag because I never know what I’m going to run into. Definitely recommend this product!

Titanium Shockwave Impact Duty Step Bit Kit (3-Piece) – These step drills are replacements for some much cheaper step drills I have owned for a while and didn’t realize how crappy they were until I used the new ones. The Milwaukee step drills are fantastic for drilling in sheet metal, aluminum coil and soffit, vinyl siding and just about any thin material. They drill a clean hole of just about any specific size up to 1-1/8 inch. Coated with Titanium Aluminum Nitride (TiAlN) to extend their life; hopefully, this will be the last set I need to buy.

These TTANIUM SHOCKWAVE IMPACT DUTY STEP BITS come in their own storage container so you won’t misplace them with your other bits. The case is sturdy enough to stand up to years of abuse while using bits. You get three different sized step bits in this kit. It makes it easy to drill the size of hole you need. The bits are self starting, so you don’t need a pilot hole before using them. I used the largest size bit to drill a hole in 1/4 IN. Metal and it worked great. The hole was clean when finished. I also drilled a hole with it into a piece of wood. This hole was clean as well. I am very pleased with this bit set.

This is a terrific step drill bit set for those that want to bore holes quickly and to a precise diameter. In the kit are three sizes, the first being #2 – drills sizes 3/16″-1/2″, #3 – drills sizes 3/16″-3/4″, and #8 – drills sizes 1/8″-1.0″. These step bits are made using a Titanium Aluminum Nitride (TiAlN) coating that supposely gives up to 5 times longer life. The boring diameters are clearly marked on each step bit so you can get to the desired diameter quickly. The hex shanks offer a secure fit in both drills and impact drivers. The three bits come packaged in a compact and durable carrying case that fits nicely in a tool box or tool bag. The step bits have exceeded my expectations on a few projects already, where I needed to bore a 5/8″ hole through the exterior shell of our fiberglass travel trailer to run some solar wires to the interior. The step bit worked flawlessly and without any chipping to the gelcoat surface. Another project involved making a 3/4″ hole through the plastic battery box to add a cable gland and run some wires through it. Again, the stepped bit bore through the plastic easily and to a precise diameter. Lastly, I used the #3 step bit to bore some holes into 1/8″ aluminum angle to create mounting brackets for my solar set-up on the travel trailer. The stepped bit handled the aluminum without issue. This step bit kit is a terrific supplement to the Millwaukee Shockwave Titanium drill bit set allowing you to bore virtually any size hole up to 1″ in diameter.

The “TItanium Shockwave Impact Duty Step Bit Kit (3-Piece)” is one of the best performance impact drivers with the versatility to be used in drills that I have come across. These step drill bits are made in the USA. I have been using these bits for some time now and believe me, they live up to their reputation. Drilling precision holes in steel and pvc pipe also on sheet metal, have given me great results. The step drill bit kit features the #2 3/16 – 1/2″, #3 3/16 – 3/4″, and #8 1/8 – 1″ step bits with laser engraving for a clear stop on size identification is fantastic.I like it I recommend it.

Excellent if you need fairly precise holes in metal surfaces that aren’t too thick. For me, it’s just for drilling out electrical boxes, especially retrofitting existing boxes without having to do major surgery. The outlets in my house have corrugated metal that’s extremely hard to work. Even with these, I need to work from the smaller bit to the larger to get a hold I can work a retrofit wire holder into. Anyway, if you need to drill through metal, especially if you can’t access the opposite size, these are the thing.

Awesome drill bits! Super durable and very sharp. I was able to drill through steel with no problems at all. The three different size bits make the set perfect. It has every size you need in the one package. The carrying case they are stored in is very convenient too.I have gone through many drill bits, for cutting/drilling steel, and these have outperformed all the others. I would highly recommend this set. It has all the right sizes, a great carrying case, and sublime durability. Great set! I wish I had acquired these sooner.
