The step drill bit kit features the #1 1/8 – 1/2 in., #4 3/16 – 7/8 in. and #9 7/8 in. and 1-1/8 in. step bits with laser engraving for a clear stop on size identification. The MILWAUKEE 15-piece Cobalt RED HELIX Drill Bit Kit is engineered for extreme durability and long life in hard metal applications. Bought this set to drill a couple of holes in stainless steel – it got the job done, but not without breaking off a tip or two (drill motor at lower speed with proper pressure). I contacted Milwaukee customer care who rectified the issue immediately and shipped out a new set in record time. I will absolutely be purchasing Milwaukee products again!

I had some cast iron to drill through, and it defeated my oxide-coated drills. These worked much better, although there was still an impurity that defied these. At least the drill did not overheat and deform. I definitely recommend these as a budget solution and good for drilling in harder metals.

Mixed reviews on these Milwaukee Cobalt Drill Bit set. I’m a Milwaukee brand loyalist. Drilling started out okay but was disappointed with the final result. Using a drop of oil to keep them cool while drilling through a 1/4″ thick Austrian made metal pitchfork shank. I was using my Milwaukee 3/8″ Magnum Drill going slowly and I decided that I didn’t want to damage the drill bits with no metal shavings coming out with the drill bit already 1/8″ into the metal…so I stopped !Going to try another well respected brand to possible finish up the job. Not sure if the Milwaukee bits were already damaged or not. This will not deter me from buying future Milwaukee products…just a bad experience with these Cobalt Drill Bits.

Very sharp cutting surfaces. Outlast all previous sets of bits I have used previously. Only difficulty is that they fit the case so tightly, it is hard to get a bit out. Because of their sharp edges, I used a tissue to grasp each one as I needed it.
