The Milwaukee SHOCKWAVE Impact Duty Electrical Step Bits are engineered to deliver the most durable and fastest impact step bit hole drilling solution. The step drill bits are global materials and deliver best-in-class performance in impact drivers with the versatility to be used in drills. The hex shank has an optimized SHOCKZONE body providing the industry’s most durable shank, reducing early shank breaks. A Titanium Aluminum Nitride (TiAlN) coating delivers 5x longer life, while the step drill bit’s Rapid Strike tip and dual spiral flute produce 2x faster holes. The step drill bit kit features the #1 1/8 – 1/2 in., #4 3/16 – 7/8 in. and #9 7/8 in. and 1-1/8 in. step bits with laser engraving for a clear stop on size identification. The MILWAUKEE 15-piece Cobalt RED HELIX Drill Bit Kit is engineered for extreme durability and long life in hard metal applications. The drill bits are designed with Variable Helix featuring an aggressive 35° Helix Angle ending at 15°. This allows for Rapid Chip Removal, limiting heat buildup to stay sharper longer. The 135° split point bit tip delivers a precision start and prevents walking for fast, accurate holes. The heavy-duty drill bits are ideal for tough applications and provide Up to 10X life vs Black Oxide drill bits. The bits in the kit can be used in all twist drilling applications.

These bits drill through broken screws and other metal like butter. I have always had a hard time drilling out screws etc. It would take a too long and be exhausting. I bought this set and now I have no problem, and they are very reasonably priced.

Used one of these bits to drill over 120 holes in mild steel. Used lots of oil and a drill press. The set is a good deal over buying bits separately and they double up on common sizes.

Drill bits cut through the metal posts on my gate like butter. Seem to be good quality, and a welcome addition to my bit arsenal.

Cobalt drill bits worked like drilling steel like butter . Titanium did not work on the project I was working on.

I have used some of these bits in the drill press and they sink in the wood beautifully, nice clean holes. I have not tried metal drilling – I use my old “disposable” bits for that abuse.

Typical Milwaukee product. Great!

Excellent high quality cutting. Just wish I would have had the money for a larger more inclusive set.

Yet another example of cheapening what was a really nice set. In Home Depot, saw this set with a “New! Lower Price!,” now $34.99 versus $44.99. So I picked it up and immediately realized what HD and Milwaukee had done: they removed the 1/2″ drill bit and replaced it with an extra 1/16″ drill bit.So, are they good bits? Yes. I have them, use them, like them. Is a good value? No. They lowered the price ten bucks, but the difference between the cost of a cobalt 1/2″ and a cobalt 1/16″ is $11, so actually they raised the price by a buck and presented it as a better deal, hoping you wouldn’t notice. But I did. And as a result think just a little less of both brands.

Does the job but be prepared to buy more bits. Don’t last as long as expected.

Bought these to specifically drill through stainless steel at work. 1/4 inch drill bits didn’t work worth a crap straight out of the box! But all the other drill bits were amazing…Fix those 1/4 inch ones!

I was drilling out rusted screws with cheap drill bits and they would break easily. These Milwaukee bits drilled great and did not break. Very pleased with these

I purchased cobalt bits to drill stainless steel which these didn’t do as claimed. Otherwise they are a good bit.
