The hex shank has an optimized SHOCKZONE body providing the industry’s most durable shank, reducing early shank breaks. A Titanium Aluminum Nitride (TiAlN) coating delivers 5x longer life, while the step drill bit’s Rapid Strike tip and dual spiral flute produce 2x faster holes. The step drill bit kit features the #1 1/8 – 1/2 in., #4 3/16 – 7/8 in. and #9 7/8 in. and 1-1/8 in. step bits with laser engraving for a clear stop on size identification. The MILWAUKEE 15-piece Cobalt RED HELIX Drill Bit Kit is engineered for extreme durability and long life in hard metal applications. The drill bits are designed with Variable Helix featuring an aggressive 35° Helix Angle ending at 15°. This allows for Rapid Chip Removal, limiting heat buildup to stay sharper longer. I’ve had these bits for a couple weeks now and they have worked as expected on multiple types of metal. The case is very nice and functional. These bits are great at not walking when first starting and they get a good bite into metal. I haven’t had any break so far and they seem sharp still. You can cut stainless steel with these. Remember to keep your RPM’s low or you will burn them up. Lube helps.
