Since buying my first multitool several years ago, I’ve come to rely on it more and more for quick, accurate cuts in a wide variety of materials. Sometimes it’s the only tool that will easily make unusual or odd angle cuts. My only beef is that the blades are either very expensive (the ones that last) or reasonably priced (but wear out after one or two uses). While these blades from Milwaukee aren’t cheap, they seem to outlast others in their price range. To test the durability, I made a number of cuts in some scrap hardwood flooring (hard maple, I think). Even after more than a dozen cuts, the blade still zipped through the material like it was butter. Any of the cheap blades would have slowed down or quit cutting after only a few attempts. My cuts with this blade were clean and straight. The blade tracks well and doesn’t seem to warp or bend during a cut. Heat build-up was minimal, even with this hardwood. Despite costing more than blades from discount suppliers like Harbor Freight, I believe the longevity of these blades will make them more economical in the long run. I highly recommend this product.

Milwaukee is the best for oscillating bits.

This review is for the new Milwaukee bi-metal oscillating 2 1/2″ blade set, model 48-90-4050.The blades are advertised as being designed with a “universal” shank, and being compatible with Milwaukee, Bosch (non-starlock), SKIL, Makita, Craftsman, Fein (non-starlock), Ridgid, AEG, Ozito, and Ryobi. With the Milwaukee adaptor (Model 48-90-0000) the blades are supposed to be compatible with Porter Cable, Black and Decker, and DeWalt.I have a DeWalt DCS355 model multi-tool which came with its own adapter for mounting non-DeWalt blades. The DeWalt blades have an open section in the shank (see photo) while the Milwaukee is a solid round shank. The DeWalt adapter provides a solid base for the Milwaukee blade to rest upon, while a hex screw/washer combination tightens the blade onto the tool (see photo).I was pleasantly surprised to find that the Milwaukee blade did indeed fit the DeWalt tool (I don’t have the Milwaukee brand adapter for testing). I will admit that I tightened down the hex screw pretty tightly – I was concerned that, once into the work, the blade would bind in the work and the adapter would allow the blade to slip. One caveat – the OEM DeWalt blades are spring loaded, and can be set at a right angle by simply releasing the spring tension; the Milwaukee blade requires the hex nut to be loosened and tightened on the DeWalt so you’ll need a hex wrench handy. Despite several cuts into various materials I had no problems. (I generally work on soft woods, but the Milwaukee also works on PVC, non-ferrous metals, and nail-infested wood). The blade ate into a standard 2×4 with ease. I can’t testify as to longevity of the blade – I don’t have a major project in hand right now – but testing on various materials doesn’t seem to have put any dullness on the blade at all. So far I like them very much. The 48-90-4050 comes in a blister pack without a plastic case or pouch.HTHRegards,Jim

Great value, great price. The blades in this 10-pack (Model #48-90-4050, Made in USA) cut well in the hard, soft, and pressure-treated lumber I used, and leave a minuscule kerf – roughly 1/32nd”. The teeth are small but sharp, and cut surprisingly aggressively. Like any blade, it dulls fairly quickly after cutting metal, which is one reason this 10-pack is such a great value. It fit my Fein Master multi-tool like a glove, with no play at all, unlike some bargain-brand blades I’ve used. The only minor “complaint” I have is that my blades are covered in a gummy brown film, which comes off easily with a paper towel but wasn’t present on other brands’ blades – or even other size oscillating blades from Milwaukee. Notwithstanding, these are terrific blades!

These blades are so quality and long lasting. Just another quality blade from Milwaukee. I paired mine with Milwaukee’s M18 Oscillating tool and was not disappointed. The blade easily cut through 2×4 material with no issues. It was able to go through wood with a nail embedded with only minor dulling and damage to the blade and easily handled the PVC pipe cutting. The 2 1/2in cutting blade gives you plenty of cutting surface and the teeth are well aligned and spaced to give you a quality cut every time. The best part is that you get 10 of these blades in a pack and that may last you a lifetime. Overall I think a professional or DIYer can not go wrong with these blades from Milwaukee. I also highly recommend you pair it with Milwaukee’s M18 oscillating tool.

This blade fits nice and tight on my Dremel oscillating tool. So tight in fact, it might even stay in place without the set screw (but I wouldn’t recommend it). When new, it cut through seasoned and pressure treated lumber with ease. I haven’t tried it through nails or staples, but don’t doubt it will slice through those types of items easily as well.
