The Milwaukee 49-00-5324 is a 3-1/2 in Metal Scroll M12 HACKZALL reciprocating saw Blade designed for precision metal cuts, and optimized for use with the M12 HACKZALL Reciprocating Saw. HACKZALL Blades deliver up to 35% more cuts per charge than leading reciprocating saw blades and are ideal for a variety of HVAC, electrical, plumbing and maintenance/repair applications. Milwaukee HACKZALL Blades combine an aggressive cutting angle, deep gullets and precision-ground tooth geometry for faster cutting. The short length of HACKZALL Blades makes it easier for users to cut in the confined spaces where the HACKZALL Reciprocating Saw excels and helps deliver accurate cuts with reduced bending and breaking. Milwaukee HACKZALL Blades feature a Matrix II bi-metal construction for longer life and greater tooth durability. The Milwaukee 49-00-5324 contains 5 Saw blades.

I plan on using this wide blade for demo work. The visual appearance of this blade makes perfect sense, the wider blade is going to dissipate heat. When you are going to be running your blade for 1 hour strait, and the blade gets up over 1000 degrees, what do you think is going to happen to the teeth? They are going to deform due to friction & temperature. The wider blade is going to act as a heat sink keeping the blade cooler. If you were to cut for 1 foot, and give the blade a 1 minute rest, you could probably keep the high temperature to somewhere under 250 degrees. When you do this the blade is going to remain harder than had you run the blade for a solid hour, giving no rest. I will probably take a laser temperature gun and find the exact temperature this blade goes to over a specific material/time duration. Once you understand this temperature/time/pressure/speed/duty cycle you will be able to keep the blade cutting faster for a longer period of time.

Good blades. They don’t sell these in the store anymore seems. They stay sharp a long time. Big enough to cut a 2×4. Good to have this size many times. My second go round with these. Good size for trimming small branches also. Aggressive cutting. Short blade doesn’t get in the way many times don’t need those long blades.

Needed to cut 3/8″ Steel Plate and didn’t have access to a torch so decided to go this route and purchase a 5 pack of metal cutting blades. Used 1 out of the 5 to cut thru plate. It cut like butter. Very easy and stayed plenty sharp. Had approximately 16″ of a single cut. Worth the money.
