This product provides a lightweight, durable solution that is meant to protect the user’s tool and work surface. A durable rubber design will withstand corrosive materials commonly found in maintenance environments. However, this die grinder accessory is not for use on or near live electrical circuits. Use on any other product other than the M12 FUEL 1/4″ Right Angle Die Grinder (2485) may result in damage to the user’s tool motor and may void the tool’s warranty.

The Milwaukee M12 FUEL right angle die grinder protective boot is meant to fit the 2485-20 tool only, as it has strategically placed openings for all the cooling vents on the 2485-20 tool. Boot fits perfectly, and is a nice addition to this very useful tool. It will protect the tool, and more importantly, it will protect the work surface. It is molded form a proprietary rubber that is soft and chemical resistant. The price seems kind of high for a simple piece of molded rubber, so I only gave it 4 stars. Still, a very nice accessory!

Milwaukee M12 FUEL Right Angle Die Grinder Protective Boot is a rubber like covering for the Milwaukee angle grinder head. If you are rough with tools or in a harsh environment this boot is designed to provide some protection. It is custom made for a specific model of Milwaukee tool where the vent openings are left uncovered so as not make the tool overheat. The boot fits the head leaving the collet and the back speed controls exposed. I found the easiest way to install it is to slip the front end in first over the collet shaft end and then pull it over the back end where the speed control is located. I like it because the tool can slip or drop and take more of a hit. I assume Milwaukee determined the tool head is the most vulnerable part to damage. Obviously, it doesn’t cover the trigger or the battery area. This is something you’ll have to decide its usefulness depending on how you work. It is not cheap, but cheaper than a replacement if you are tough on your tools.

A nice cover/hacker to keep grease and grime off the tool. Not too thick, and it fits snug(it won’t move around and flex between your hand and the tool). I use mine in dirty conditions so it is a must have.

I actually purchased my Milwaukee right angle die grinder, kind of on a whim. I figured that it may come in handy from time to time. I had no idea how valuable a tool it would be for me ! It’s actually one of my favorite tools, especially when I work on my vehicles. I like it so much, I’m actually considering purchasing the straight die grinder as well.
