I received my Milwaukee 1/4 inch extended reach ratchet rubber boot; This is an excellent form-fitting boot that will protect the ratchet and the work surface too. I like the fact that it is very flexible and easy to install. It is a little bit pricey but appears to be very durable and should last quite a while. Overall this should keep debris out of the ratchet mechanism helping the ratchet last longer.

This is one of those that sounded great in theory but wasn’t so great in application. It looks great on the ratchet. It definitely protects the tool as well as protecting the surfaces you’re working on. It does all of that well. It is tight to get on so I’m confident it’ll stay in place. The rubber has a good grip so your greasy hands won’t slip off. The problem I have is the direction. The tool itself was built for minimum clearance. In doing so, the direction lever is recessed into the head. For guys with fat fingers like myself, that’s a pain. Adding the rubber boot makes it that much more difficult to change directions. I’m not a fan

If you own a Milwaukee extended reach 1/4 in ratchet and want to keep it in like new condition because the ratchets heads are the first thing to wear out either from damage or dirt then you need to get a rubber boot protector. The rubber is thick which makes it hard to get on the ratchet but once it’s on there your good to go. The rubber has a embossed logo on it which is a nice touch and it will extend the life of my ratchet. I use my 1/4 inch ratchet more than my 3/8 Milwaukee as you can see from my pictures how dirty it is so it’s important to keep the head clean.

The Milwaukee model 49-16-2559 protective boot only fits the ‘extended reach’ 1/4” model of the Milwaukee M12 power ratchet. If you have the ‘standard’ ratchet, this gadget won’t fit.The fit and finish of this boot is top notch – the material is thick enough to allow you to pull the boot onto the ratchet without issue. It’s a tight fit – which is exactly what I want; it doesn’t slip or get in the way of attaching sockets or extensions to the ratchet. It’s not so thick that it gets in the way of getting the M12 ratchet into the work. It’s a simple accessory – but can save a lot of headaches in preventing the ratchet head from scratching the work (such as your car fender!).Not much to add to a short review – the boot works as advertised and is a nice addition to a good tool.HTHRegards,Jim

The boot fits well and protects the tool. The only problem I have with any of the 4 boots that I have purchased for my (Milwaukee Fuel) tools collection is the absurd prices. It is a simple piece of rubber. Some other manufacturers include the boot with the tool or they list the boot at half the price of these over priced boots. I want to protect tool, but when the tool itself cost $239.00 plus tax, I think $29.00 plus tax is a bit much for a piece of rubber. Make it $15.00 and I would give it 5 stars. Maybe when the newness wears off and the competition create an equal line of tools the price will drop. Time will tell. By the way…..The (Milwaukee Fuel) tool line up is 5 star!

These boots are ridiculously expensive for what they are but I usually buy them anyway. I use them to protect what I’m working on more than the tool itself. This one fits perfectly and is well made just like all the other protective boots Milwaukee makes.
