M18 FUEL GEN-2 Mid-Torque Impact Wrench Rubber Protective Boot is a nice addition when purchasing a Milwaukee impact wrench. I ordered the ½ inch 2962 model and the rubber boot is a perfect fit. The holes for airflow are where they ought to be and the fit is very snug. I had to really pull hard to install (back to front and over the anvil) and needed to use a flat screw driver to clear the front of the anvil. The rubber material never flinched during the stretching to install and you would never know it was worked as hard to put in place. One note, I have the carrying case that came with my impact and charger and when trying to put the wrench back into the case with the boot installed the case would no longer close. There is just not that much room when adding the boot. I’ll try to heat up the carrying case and see if I can “make” more room and get it to close. Otherwise a very nicely made item if a bit expensive. Then again it is high quality and fits 100% perfectly. Glad to have in my garage.

This Milwaukee rubber protective boot fits the 2960-20, 2962-20 and 2962P-20 impact wrenches. It will protect the upper body of the impact wrench as well as your work area. It is also resistant to corrosive materials found in environments where an impact wrench is typically used. The boot fits the tool very well but getting it on takes a lot of work. If you like to store your impact wrench in the original blow mold case, forget using this boot unless you want to go through the hassle of install and removal on a regular basis as it prevents the case from closing. If you do not like your tools scratched up from banging or dragging on concrete, etc. this product is a great addition to your impact wrench.

They do make several versions of this. Be sure to order it for your Milwaukee model number. Once on, it fits very tightly. Looks cool once installed too. Everything is still accessible but the Fwd/Rev button is right against the boot so it makes it cumbersome to switch. The impact wrench itself has built in rubber on the outer shell. This is designed to give added protection. If you drop your impact, tend to hit it against objects you are working apart or if you just want added protection, this is for you. I ordered the wrong boot. It fits my impact well but I had to trim the end off since I was using the compact version. It still works great. There aren’t many breathing slots built in to it. It’s probably good enough to give adequate ventilation to keep your impact cool.Great boot that works well.

I received the Milwaukee Protective boot for the M18 Fuel Gen-2 Mid-Torque impact wrench. Its a great fit and looks good on the tool also provides great protection for the top side of the tool when it falls over and you know with an Impact ot going to get dropped, knocked off of the tool card or something so its a great investment. The only thing I didn’t like about the boot was it got hard to shut the lid on the hard case for the tool kit with boot on.

The boots should come with the tools as with snap-on and other brands and they should have the case fit both the tool with the boot together.

This boot is a great concept. Milwaukee tools are high quality and are expensive and they deserve to be protected. if you care about your tool purchase this boot. Now the bad part, this thing was a bear to get on, after trying the wrong direction and trying it cold out of the box I soaked the boot in hot water and slowly and gently slid it over the wrench wile it was still hot and a slightly damp for lubrication. Eventually I got it on but it was a chore. The fit is not the absolute best but it’s good enough, but not good enough for the price.

I didn’t realize how important these rubber protective boots are until I was using my impact in different situations constantly scuffing it up. It would also get really dirty and greasy or full of dust. Which is OK because it’s a power tool but it would be nice to be able to protect it and that’s why I got this boot. I have the first GEN protective boot and the quality is similar. This protective boot is made very good and the rubber on it fits really nice. Milwaukee did really good work with the moulding of it to fit on the impact. It fits perfectly on the impact and even has all the breather holes that it has and all the curves match exact. It doesn’t increase the size of the impact by much but it does affect it if you’re using a hard case. I have a hard case for my impact and it won’t close with the boot on. It really does protect my impact very good though and I’m definitely getting more of the protective boots from my ratchets and my other impacts. The rubber itself is really tough that even at first I was struggling to get it on but it does go on. And it fits on it like a glove once it’s on. The quality of it did surprise me because I was one of those people that didn’t see a reason to get these until I tried one. And once I tried it I realize just how much I needed it especially in rough jobs. It also cleans up pretty easy and if it does get a little messy I just take it off and clean it up good. This same boot also fits the 3/8 mid torque. Hopefully I am able to get more of these for my other impacts and ratchets. They help out a lot more than I expected.
