Very good hole saw set “if” you have a ½ inch drive drill or a Milwaukee M18 drill. The Milwaukee 8 pcs. Hole saw set comes with 4 carbide hole saws 7/8, 1 ½, 2 and 2 ½ inch and two arbors with pilot drills, two extra pilot drills and an Allen wrench to R&R the drills with. The case is nicely laid out and will accept 5 more hole saws if needed. These sizes could be 2 ¼, 1 ¾, 1-3/8, 1-1/8 and 1”. The larger of the hole saws only take the ½ inch arbor with the two “dogs” to help drive the saw. Most home owners/DIY’er have 3/8 drive drills and the ½” arbor will not fit them. It seems that if you have a Milwaukee M18 Fuel drill or any one else’s 18 volt drill the chuck is a ½” drive chuck. Anything smaller like a M12, Ryobi 14.7, Ridged or DeWalt corded, it’s a 3/8 chuck and you cannot use these drills with the larger hole saws. So, I had to use the 7/8” hole saw to do the test. I tested the 7/8” on some pressure treated wood and it cut through exceptionally quickly without me having to really work the saw or the saw leaving any burn marks on the wood. The saw teeth were pretty much in line and not bent outward or inward and the saw cut cleanly. The white thermoset coating helped to eliminate friction and drag allowing its use to be more efficient with cordless drills. There are 4 slots, two vertical and two horizontal to help you pry the slug out, but I find it easiest to remove the saw from the arbor and poke the slug out from the bottom. I did try the hole saw on a scrap piece of ½” cement board and it worked even better than with the wood. Concerns, you need a ½” drive drill with some “umph” like the M18 to really make these saws go as fast and cleanly as they do in the videos and nowhere on the box or the product overview does it tell you that. The Thermoset coating came off most of the carbide teeth and some spots around the jack holes. The performance of the hole saw is exceptional with a larger or higher amp corded or cordless drill and you can actually use all the sizes. The case is nicely laid out with room for additional hole saws when they get purchased. The Thermoset coating does help with friction and not burning the wood. Although I did not try this on any metal, I suspect the carbide teeth will work as well as it did on the pressure treated wood and cement board, “but” you need to cut at a slower speed. There is a sheet of paper with recommended speeds listed for hole size and material. All in all this is a great set, will last a long time and will cut a variety of materials as long as you have the right size drill, recommended.

Good value for the money, and it’s a very nice feature to have more spaces in the case for additional sizes

The Milwaukee Hole Dozer Carbide Tooth Hole Saw Set (8-Piece) is an impressive tool set. It features hole saw bits with carbide teeth that can handle materials that will quickly destroy normal hole saws. You can safely cut all woods, plastics, most metals (including stainless steel), roofing shingles, and even fiber-cement board. This kit includes an easy to use quick-release bayonet-stud style of arbor for the larger hole saws and a quick screw-on one for smaller size hole saw bits. It comes in a heavy duty blow-molded carry case that is well organized and has room for quite a few more hole saw bits. This kit only has four sizes of hole saw bits but you can get additional saw bits or even more complete sets from Milwaukee and the Home Depot. I’ll be getting more bits as I need them.

This is a great small set of hole saws for the average user. The size contents; 7/8″, 1-1/2″, 2′, and 2-1/2′ will meet the majority of average product needs. Two arbors are included to hold the hole saws as well as two additional pilot bits and the hex key needed to install them. The hole saws have new access jacks or holes to assist you in removing the slugs that were cut out. The material that Milwaukee uses is typical high end Milwaukee: 50 times the the life of other saws by utilizing 4-TPI carbide teeth technology and a special coating to reduce friction during cutting. These saws will cut material that other hole saws will not. The case also has additional space for other size saws should you need something larger or smaller than what is included but for the average user, everything is included.

I’ve generally considered hole saws to be a somewhat disposable tool, having experienced so many in the past that became uselessly dull after only a few cuts. Especially when working with hardwoods or metals. These hole saws from Milwaukee may change my attitude. They’re carbide tipped, giving them a durability that the standard steel saws don’t have. Just to test them, I made multiple cuts in some scrap hard maple flooring I had lying around with no signs of dulling. The cuts were quick, clean, and generated minimal heat. The included guide drills and hardware are well designed and allow for easy changing to a different size hole saw. Overall, another fine product from Milwaukee – highly recommended!

These saws are beasts—getting through a stud up high where I’d expect to hit a nail from the top plate is not a problem with these carbide-tipped saws since they will go right through. I hear it and it slows down a bit, but it’s drilling through big nails! These drill fast and true, and the only hiccup I hit was going through water-logged plywood on a cabinet base. The material was soggy and sloppy, and the hole saw made it through, but it was messy with ply strands in the way of getting it back out. I got it out and just used my Sawzall to cut off the soggy stuff and get it out of there so there’s no risk of mold growing. Can they cut through stainless? Absolutely. I got through a restaurant stainless table fixture with ease; just kept the hole and saw oiled since I want a lot of life out of these saws. The warranty is awesome since it’s Milwaukee, but there’s no reason to work poorly and have down time waiting for bits to be replaced. The case is perfect. Every manufacturer should look to Milwaukee as the gold-standard for cases—they put foam in the lid to keep the hole saws in place and the tiny allen wrench right where it should be. Since this is the standard Milwaukee hole saw case, there is room for extra hole saws as my collection grows. Extra pilot bits are included, and both the small and the large arbors are included. Are these hole saws perfect? I would say they are. I have not tried them on heavy steel, as I don’t encounter big I-beams in my work, but everything else I’ve used them on has been fast and clean. These are a significant upgrade to my tool set.

Dozer carbide is the way to go. The carbide teeth plow through almost anything and they seem to last longer than other brands. This 8 piece set is the most common for regular use like door knobs and locks. We cut a lot of holes in some 2 x12s for ropes at the river for a walkway project and the hole saw was as sharp as it was when we started. the best hole saw I ever had.

A very high quality hole saw set when compared to previous options in my shop. Everything about this set is much better than economy sets. The drill bits are very good quality and the hole cutters are heavy duty and lock in place for use. Sizes in my 13-piece set vary from 7/8″ to 2 1/2″. My only use so far has been in wood and this set quickly cuts a smooth hole/plug. Even the plug might be useful in some craft projects. The plug was easily removed especially after the drill bit is removed. I was initially concerned about a couple of the sizes since it appeared that the teeth did not line up where the metal was joined. But in use I had no problem and it did not appear to affect the quality of the cut. The fact that these can handle many different materials adds to their versatility. Overall a nice addition to my tool collection.

Great product. Needed a hole saw kit badly but didn’t want to break the bank. Signed up for Home Depot daily deals/emails and waited until this hit the daily deals. At 40% off it is a great purchase although I wouldn’t buy at full price

Hole Dozer Carbide Hole Saw Set (13-Piece) by Milwaukee Tools. A Great Tool SetHole Saws are one of those tools that when you need it, you don’t have it, and when you have it, you don’t need it. This 8 pc. Milwaukee hole dozer set is perfect for the DIY or Professional. It’s an extremely durable tool and well designed. Basic hole saws cut soft materials and this hole dozer cuts hard materials such as stainless steel, cement board, fiberglass and more. It has 50x life in extreme multi cutting applications, the best tooth durability with carbide teeth, and longest life in stainless steel. The Thermoset coating reduces friction and drag, and the Plug Jack T-slots provide access to remove slugs. It arrived in a great storage case to keep saws and mandrels together. My first practice hole went well and I highly recommend this set.

Being a do it yourself’er you just never know when your going to need to cut a hole in wood, wallboard or some other material. So go these to while doing a project. As you can see my the picture plenty of sizes. The largest bit fit on my small hand held drill with no problem. Each hole saw comes with a drill bit and set into your drill head. Learned through a couple of practice holes the best way is slow and easy. Great set for the DIY’er.

I already had some of the larger size hole dozer saws so the quality of these is no surprise to me. I knew they are top quality saws built heavy to hold up to the job. This is a nice selection of sizes with the sizes of mandrels as well as extra bits for each. I needed some to cut some holes in cement board and these are just the ticket for that job. The case is well made and built with padding positioned in a way to help keep things in place when the closes case is being moved about. That is a nice touch. What good is a case when you open it and everything is all over the place. Not happening here. You can’t go wrong with these Milwaukee saws if you need something that will stand up to the job. I’ve had good luck with these over time. It worked out great for me that the sizes on this meshed perfectly with the ones I already had. I know that is luck that I already had just the bigger ones but I’ll take it. But you don’t need luck to for these to last.

This is a real nice set of hole saws that will come in handy for your handyman projects. The cutter sizes are good for most any job. There are two drill shafts of different size and the large one will be too big for some small light drills. I like that the cutters are made for deep cuts in thick materials. The carbide tips should last a long time. This is a better quality set of cutters than you will find at the discount tool stores.

It didn’t come with the sizes listed on the front, so when i bought the in between sizes i ended up with doubles. Pretty disappointing.

This Milwaukee Hole Dozer Carbide Hole Saw set is one of the best investments I have ever made. One with just one set of hole saws I can easily work with both metal and wood. The carbide tips on the saws “teeth” extend the life of each saw many times over. The coating on the outer part of the hole saw reduces friction and provides some cooling properties. This set provides all of the essential sizes necessary to do any job you may encounter. The saws hole cutting ability is excellent with very little tear out along the sides of the holes when drilling in wood.
