Save time and frustration when installing locksets and deadbolts with the MILWAUKEE Bi-Metal HOLE DOZER Door Lock Installation Kit. The hole saw installation kit was designed with accuracy and ease of use in mind, making it simple to align and drill holes in slab doors. The door lock installation kit is ideal for remodeling, replacing a damaged door or adding a deadbolt. The auto-centering guide and anti-splinter depth stop allow for centered holes with a clean finish every time. The hole saws feature RIP GUARD teeth built with more steel behind the cutting edge for added strength. The teeth give increased productivity on the job site and better hole quality. They are also backed by a limited lifetime tooth break warranty. I used this kit to convert 12 doors from mortise lock knobs to conventional Schlage knobs. This is a great kit but only one arbor has been provided for the larger center bore 2 1/8″ hole saw (that goes through the door) and the smaller 1″ edge bore hole saw (that is used to house the latch). Unfortunately an arbor is about the same cost as an arbor/hole saw combination so I ended up buying another 2 1/8″ hole saw with arbor attached. This version of the kit has a pretty stable toggle to go from 2 3/8″ backset (more common) to 2 3/4″ backset (the previous version would move far too easily while you were drilling out the hole). While drilling the center bore, it is helpful to start your drill anticlockwise to score the door and avoid slipping of the saw and scarring the door. Also hold the drill somewhat loosely against the door to allow the saw to continue rotating fast (don’t push the saw hard against the door, it won’t rotate).

Worked well, even on sheet metal exterior door. The metal was tough and made the saw jump and chew up the guide, but I was glad I had it.

Exelent tool

Great tool. I love the automatic centering of the width. Only thing I would add is a case to hold all of the pieces in 1 place and a router bit (for a drill) and template for the door edge and jamb recess.

Good performance, good value.I recently volunteered to hang and put locksets in four interior doors, then I realized I needed new hole saws in both sizes. HD had good options in stock locally, as well as drilling fixtures like this one. Since the cost of the kit was only a little more than the cost of the two individual bits, I gave the kit a try. When the doors were hung, it was easy to mark the strike plate location, find the center and extend a horizontal line for centering the fixture. Yes, the alignment and latch centering can all be done manually, but late in the day when you are tired, dirty and thirsty, it sure is nice to be able to simply clamp the fixture on and get the holes in the right place. The kit does not come with a dedicated arbor for the large bit and using the adapter provided did not look like fun, so I used a larger, two-pin arbor for that bit.

The setback spacing feature simply clicks into place. While boring the large opening for the handle it moved and the hole was not properly spaced to the edge of the door. Disappointed as that was the entire reason I bought this.

Worked perfectly to cut the proper holes for my door. The set comes with eveeything you need to be able to properly install a door knob. There are two settings on the guide to be able to cut holes for all standard door knobs. Very easy to use

Setup was really easy be sure you have the right Distant You want. Level it up and tighten up the setscrew, Set up your drill be sure to keep it level, I think it is the best piece equipment I’ve ever use for doors.

The tool helped me accomplish exactly what I needed to do which was install deadbolts. My one and only complaint is that I wish they had used a slightly more dense material other than plastic or incorporated alloy in key areas to give it more rigidity and resistance to wear. Otherwise, a bit pricey but a decent tool.
