SAWZALL Reciprocating Material Removal Blade Set (3-Piece)This blade set will make a great addition to your arsenal of removal tools. I have similar tools that are much smaller and very flexible for my Dremel multi-tool. These Milwaukee tools will work great with my reciprocating saw to remove things such as old flooring. They are very heavy duty. There are two scraper blades, 1.5” & 3” wide. The third tool has a carbide grit that should work well for removing grout between ceramic tiles. Pros:Quality toolsVersatileCons:None

Started out well and got most of the 10’x15′ room done. But then the 1-1/2″ flat blade broke. The 3″ blade finished the job just fine. The cutter worked better than expected. I cut through the grout and into the underlying cement. Takes some training to keep it from going to deep. Despite its shortcomings with durability, I’d buy it again for the price. It made the project go quicker and easier in the long run.

SAWZALL Reciprocating Material Removal Blade Set (3-Piece). I got this set mainly for the paint scrapping blade. I am a painter by trade and I hate scrapping old paint. So I thought I would give these a try. They are all very thick and heavy duty. They are made in China and Taiwan. They still are well made. The paint scrapper works pretty well. The only thing is my sawzall is about 40 years old and still going strong. I think because it’s so old it vibrates a lot so it gets tiring after awhile trying to scrape paint with it. Other than that they are great.

This Milwaukee SAWZALL Reciprocating Material Removal Blade Set worked very well for my recent demobconstruction project. With both the 1.5″ and 3″ scraper blade sets, was able to salvage the needed vinyl flooring tile to make spot repairs in the upstairs bedroom flooring.I’ve not used the grout removal blade yet but with its carbide grit finish, imagine removing large ceramic tile flooring would go quick and easy!

we did a home project by removing tile and grout from concrete and used these blades to make it a faster process. We found that if you put too much pressure on the blade in an angle it will break. But it did the work and we are happy with the end results.

The Sawzall blade set is not for every job. It is perfect for controlled demolition. I used the grout blade to remove the grout in the center of several tiles that had to be removed but used a smaller tool to remove the grout next to tiles that I wanted to keep (undamaged). I used the scraper blade to separate the tiles from the wallboard without damaging the board. It just is not practical to use a reciprocating saw for “delicate” work.

I’ve only used the grout saw. I could get through about 6 brick’s worth of mortar before the blade became difficult to saw through. The other pieces seem pretty solid and I’ll be using them to take glue off our kitchen floor when I get around to replacing it. Well priced.

This Milwaukee 3 piece material removal set is well made and heavy duty, made of thick metal which will stand up to years of use. When using the tile grout saw I found that the Milwaukee M12 Hackzall worked nicely as it was easier to get to the low angle required to use the tool, so it was more comfortable. I didn’t have to remove all of the grout, so that M12 tool was perfect for the job. The blade can be used in my M18 full sized Recip saw if the saw is upside down & kept at a very low angle. I also used it to knock off extra cement nibs & bumps due to sloppy workmanship of my cement guys on a poured 12’x18′ deck. Tip- The grout tool might be too thick for some wall & floor tile grout lines so test it in a hidden area first. The larger 33″ scraper tool did a good job of taking up old tile off a countertop and getting down to the plywood, removing almost all of the old mastic. I have yet to use the 1 1/2″ putty knife sized blade, but it’s made out of the same thick metal as the 3″ blade. The two scraper blades can be resharpened, so again, they’ll last for many years. If you plan to keep these tools in a tool chest drawer, keep the plastic insert that comes with the packaging as it makes a nice holder for the removal tools, they actually snap in the clear plastic tray so they won’t move around in the drawer (see pic below). Milwaukee is doing a great job of making trade specific tools that help get the job done, these 3 bargain priced tools are well made and are actually fun to use! I hope this review helped you, if so please check the thumbs up!

Packaging difficult to open. When cutting the packaging, leaves sharp edges to cut your hand. Label for each item should be on the piece (Grout or Scraper) meaning you need to keep the card enclosed in the packaging. Should be separate paper instructions included. Does fit all Hackzall and Sawzall saws. I have M12 versions. I was able to completely remove the blades, fold the instruction card and fit in the slot on the polypropylene blow molded case. Not so lucky with version I have in a Milwaukee M12 bag. For that one I had to be more creative, but it still leaves sharp edges. Wish it had a cloth folding bag, polyethylene molded case, or Injection molded case similar to the one for the Sawzall Blade sets

Another great product from the folks at Milwaukee. I got this set to use the scrapers for paint removal on a deck and railings. The 2 scrapers made quick work of getting rid of the peeled and chipped paint. I used these blades in a Milwaukee M12 Hackzall and it worked great. After making sure to get the right angle on the blade to the wood it zipped through peeling it off. What a time saver over hand scraping.

I wanted this set mainly for the grout removal blade. I had a couple of pieces of ceramic tile to replace from where the old hydronic heating pipe came through the floor. The blade works great for this. Unlike using an angle grinder, it gets it tight to the wall. It also leaves a nice squared off edge. It removes the grout much faster then I expected. If I was removing a lot of grout, I would use an angle grinder, and use this blade to get where I gringer couldn’t get to.I haven’t used the flat blades much. They don’t work well for removing wall paper – they tend to dig into the drywall or plaster. You have the same problem removing vinyl molding from the wall. But they should work fine removing vinyl flooring. I will find out this winter when redoing the second bathroom.

Bought this set for cutting fiberglass resin. Works absolutely amazing. Wish I would’ve bought it sooner. The grout cutting blade seems to be holding up very well, but can’t speak for the usage actually on grout. The scraping blades do exactly what they’re supposed to and don’t dig. Love it.

Milwaukee Sawzall Reciprocating Material Removal Blade Set (3-Piece) is a nice accessory to use with your Sawzall. It has two scrapper blades ( 1-1/2-inches and 3-inches) and a large grout removal blade. The scrapper blades can be re-sharpened which is nice because they can take some abuse and they are thicker than others I’ve used. They are perfect for removing material like adhesives without gouging the base underneath, like wood floors, if kept at a shallow angle and work carefully. The grout blade has a coarse grit and is carbide coated for faster work.I already have a smaller scraping blade for my Sawzall and have used it to scrape concrete blobs up from a basement floor in preparation for painting. The advantage is this method created much less dust than a grinder and easier than a hand tool. That scrapper was from another manufacturer that I used. These are all larger scrappers and includes a large grout blade that I haven’t seen before. From looking at it the grout blade requires holding the Sawzall close to the ground to use with tiles. These are all good accessories for your Recip saw and extend their capability.

This is a review of Milwaukee’s Item #49-22-5403 3-piece material removal set.The two scrapper blades [1.5 and 3″ widths] are made in China; the grout removal tool is made in Taiwan.Save the plastic packaging inset … it’s a great place to park the blades when not in use. The body of the blades are thick, very robust and should hold up for quite a long time; the edges of the scrappers can be re-tunes quite easily and for many ‘sharpenings’. They should last a long time.[I would have liked to see a less stiff and longer scrapper … one having some flex to enable good penetration under large ceramic tiles.]In general, these accessories will fill the gap between using an air chisel, sanding with 40-grit and using the more delicate blades on the oscillating tool. Good option to have in the bag.
