I am not sure why I paid so much for a magnet the size of an Oreo cookie, but it makes mounting the flashlight on a ferrous surface possible where the hook cannot attach to anything. Magnet is very strong and I can hang it on a steel corner. Anyone who says that the magnet is weak definitely got a defect. Magnet also attaches to Shockwave cases. Until now, no one has been able to explain the purpose of the 1/4 nut on Shockwave cases. Case solved?
